As someone who makes a fair bit of ISK from mission loot minerals IĘd hate to see my faucet turned off from a purely selfish standpoint. But ū Nyphur makes some great points, one being that too much unnamed T1 loot is dropped by rats.

Perhaps once upon a time this served as a bootstrap for the economy, now it may be a crutch too old. If demand exists for an item, players will build it or import it. It does not take great industry skills to make at a half way decent profit margin on most T1 equipment, or it didnĘt prior to the homogenization of missions Eve wide. And a noob could make decent ISK if he paid attention to the markets around him. Lots of those little niche markets have dried up. Places that had a majority of Gurista missions, had few lasers on the market, so they sold well there, it was worth importing or manufacturing them. Same for Sansha space, shield and missile modules were more rare, it was worth building them or importing them from someplace else, now itĘs not, and as such has removed trade and industry options, play options, for some players. This is not exactly NyphurĘs point, but it does illustrate the effect unnamed T1 drops can have on the economy, and support his argument.

IĘd like to see rats stop dropping unnamed T1 equipment, even though it would ōhurtö me. Named stuff is great to find and most of it gets used by players and gets consumed and not refined. Rats can keep dropping T1 ammo as most of that gets consumed as well, though faction ammo in small bits (100 count lots) would be nice too, whoĘs going to refine that? IĘd rather see an economy with variations in markets versus a homogenized collection of ōroomsö where the only difference is the color of the background. (I know this is a slight exaggeration, but it is closer to that than it used to be.)

Not dropping the unnamed T1 will create demand for minerals from miners instead of ratters and mission runners. It will also increase and perhaps make trade (import/export as opposed to flipping in Jita) more viable than it currently is. If the unnamed drops were to stop, IĘd not want to see reprocessing yields go down. If a market got over saturated, IĘd like to know that the floor value of a named module was at least as valuable as an unnamed module or at least very close.

To conclude, the removal of T1 unnamed drops will not only help mining, but also help industry and trade as a result of supply and distribution. Named drops honestly do not need much in the way of changes, in my experience, that seems to be just about right, faction ammo and some new toys would be nice though.
