No, a skill que would help a lot in making these server issues less intolerable. As it is, training short skills is next to impossible.

That's a bit harsh.
The devs have been considering some kind of skill queue for some time, but the problem is that it will lead to more people not playing the game if you can change skills from the website. An in-game skill queue would be nice, but given other more pressing issues I think it resides pretty close to the bottom of the totem pole. ------------ Whiners - Unite! I would love to have a queue. There is so many things you could change to make this game more intelligent without changing the actual gameplay. A queue for your skill training is only one thing.

Only, and ONLY, if it's queue of one skill and that it doesn't take effect if the account isn't active.
To stop too much "offlining" and also to stop abuse of the system.
If there's no check-up on account activity, you could queue(even with two skills) a nice 60 day training and not pay for it.
So yeah, i have a problem with being serious, but it's the almost smallest problem i have. |

To be honest, i'd rather they finish sorting the lag before catering to the 100 people out of the 100,000 sub's that cry for a skill que ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

I'm making some assumptions here as to how the skill portion of the database works; but I think I'm fairly correct in saying that the only way to get the skill queue working during DT, unplanned DT and patch-day; would be to have a seperate system/daabase which accepted skill change entries and was then "merged" against the main database when the server came back up.
Without such a system the queue would only work for skill completions which occurred during operational time - I'm guessing this is the hold up. -------------------------------------------- The most common phrase on the Eve-O forum of late is: "Oh the irony". Considering that it is going to take you 30 years to train all the skills in this game, missing 15 minutes to a few hours isnt going to kill you in the scope of things. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. Quote: Maybe a 1-skill queue which fires up when the server is down (not DT) could be nice.
This is one of the better ideas I have seen in relation to this issue. But some kind of queue system that kicks in as soon as a skill ends will just lead to abuse.
Also, it isn't that hard to have skills end while you are playing, it just takes a bit of planning. The only ppl that might have problems are brand new characters, and imo, if you just started, you will be playing a lot anyways, so lining up skills endings shouldn't be too hard.
And I have lost a few hours (up to half a day) from forgetting about skills ending, I wasn't happy about it, but I dealt with it, and made sure I was online for the next time. Like I said, it isn't hard to do.

It would be alot easier to create a toon to sell if you only have to pay for the first month and let the que run.
Think about it before you tell people to get a brain. ______________________________ A Request About Lag Discussion -- Yet another "Edit my sig devs!" request \o/ |

If training stops totally once your account stops being paid for then this would be a good feature. If they let people continue to train on unpaid accounts then no, but I can't imagine it would be allowed to happen that way.
