I used to hang out here a lot about a year before EVE came out following it closely, werent implants supposed to show on player portaits?
Did that feature get nerfed?

Why should they? They're implants as imbedded in your head, not freaking antennas!

I'm a total n00b.
Well- actually, not a *total* n00b. This is my fourth character since Saturday- lol. I kept rerolling to make a decent portrait, and since it takes 10 hours to delete a character, it got a little time consuming.

But maybe when augmentations come out.
But then you would probably have to clear your cache to see the changes to the portraits.

Err, implants ARE augmentations. Look at that ni-kunni pervert up there on the corner of the forums, behind the Caldari chick, he has a perception implant! (Just like the windscreen washer on the startup screen of the first versions of Gemini after launch)
Afaik implants are supposed to show up on your char, but its not a priority atm, and it'll prolly take some effort to do.

Yeah implants were meant to show, and maybe they will (thinking about wider varieties of implants), CCP just had to give something before it was complete to pacify the community. Anyway showing implants should mean RARE, so not everyone will be showing them, like 1 billion module w/insurance up to 850 mill.

During beta i saw this article on Action Vault about EVE and about implants.
Just now it is a little bit another. Why?
Can someone from DEV answer this question?
Cyber implants are divided into four categories depending on what body location they go into. The four groups are Brain, Head, Torso and Abdomen. All characters have two Brain implant slots and one implant slot for each of the other three groups, for a total of five slots. Special implants allow extra slots; the absolute maximum a character can have, if all implants that increase the number of slots have been installed, is 12. Most of the extra slots gained are for the Brain group, as it is the most important one. An example of such an implant is the Mind Cache, which allows the player to install three extra Brain implants.
And what about avatars? Will be there some changes after installing head implant?

Err.. No.. Implants and augmentations are separate entities.. as far as we know.
I've read before that implants do what they do (prooven), and I also read in the same post that "augmentations" would be like boosters.
Maybe they changed their story since then though.

Check again Mr Nstuff - implants are under augmentations...
Originally they were supposed to show on your portrait... anyone remember the beta splash screen with the guy who has those things sticking out his head?

The people who say implants are internal and shouldnt show up anyway really need to read some of the eve fiction. Implants in eve are supposed to be ellaborate and decorative, in some races they're seen as status symbols, particularly in Amarr culture. Much like the 'emote/mood altered tattoos' (forget their proper name, but they are supposed to only show when the person is for example angry) popular with Minmatar and Gallente.
I think its a shame they dont show up on portraits, but hey, I can live without it as there are more important issues to be addressed more urgently.. *cough*TECH-II-FARCE*cough*
