They still project damage better than any other weapon system, delayed though it may be. There's also the whole selectable damage type thing, or at least on ships with a global bonus and not just kinetic.

No, they aren't useless. IMO HML are still the most powerful BC sized weapon.

Generally speaking, any time you need a tank or need to project your damage beyond ~30km. Also, Large guns are not Medium guns, if you catch my drift. :)

The question of how to optimally fit a Drake (or any other ship) in game might need a bit of refining though. People spend entirely too much time worshiping EFT numbers and not enough understanding when they may or may not be appropriate (or even correct).

CCP and the CSM discussed the new Tier 3 battlecruisers. CCP noted that the Talos needs adjustment upwards; the CSM noted that the Naga is too powerful compared to the Talos. CCP acknowledged this, citing the difficulty of finding a role for blasters as well as the power of passive shield tanking.

Man it must be a full time job for Liang to post on these forums. I think there's a team of you :)
