some type of check needs to be performed to make sure lag is gone when in any battle situation.
an overwhelming advantage exists to whoever is already in a location & not warping in.
send a confirmation byte or something to confirm that both/all players are ready to lock targets, if not there isn't much sense in playing when game gets laggy, no one wants to take chances with a cruiser & even less so when battleships become more available. thx ;)

Indeed, my system just hangs for a few secconds (sometimes 5 seconds!) before i enter a roid field, and when im in i need to wait before i can target thus giving the other some advantage. :(

People, there's a 10 second period after just leaving warp where you cannot be targetted. If your systems loads for over 10 seconds... you need an upgrade.
From what i've experienced this 10 second invulnerability period is solid and works every time, though I might be wrong.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

Now with that configuration i do not expect that my system will hang when i enter a roid field. And yes, all my drivers are up to date. Virus scans disabled, disk defragged enz

similar setup RedNas, or better, but i think a lot of info is being transferred or sending a message to our computers to load, so time delays! sometimes not bad & sometimes horrible.
a couple of patches ago, i would be locked & ready to be fired upon, by the time the lag stopped. i actually timed a min+ of lag before, now the lag isn't that horrible now, but im also talking about PvP fights, Players are not going to wait past lock delay & definetly not waiting to fire till u have a lock! ;)
