A big statement from CCP was that EVE will NEVER fade away lol.
What on earth does not fade away???????????
For now the ancient pyramids in the egyptian desert.
The ancient pyramids outlasted Mankind MMO...
The ancient pyramids will outlast EVE online MMO...
The rational of all this: dont touch my drug.
Alot of rational to forsee you wont play eve until pension fund...
Either eve will fade out in front of you or eve online will fade out no matter what peeps ingame or outgame do.
About the offices of CCP it can be baught by the Icelandic government for tourism.

the answer is...no, they will not fade.
And CCP will not fade. they are making the world of darkness game as we speak.
and unlike other companies, instead of building a squeal, which the endless cycles of squeals will never end. mega man X56? yeah it will happen.

Eve is one of the very few mmo's that don't "peak" right after release and then go in a steady decline. Eve has been constantly and steadily growing ever since release.

I give eve 20 years.
then it might fade into a hardcore game
but in 20 year it will have walking on planets, graphics that make your mind explode, walkign in ships, full on planet velicle battles, FPS fighting, and be the greatest game ever!
basicly CCP planes to make EvE into the ultimate sci-fi game ever made.
and I think they can do it. think forward instead of the normal mmorpg way.
kerpp building new games with new reasons to play, but they are all eve-online.

Pyramid is a term used to describe something resembling a three-dimensional triangular shape. That idea certainly doesnt fade.
So the term "Eve never fades" is one referring to the idea of eve, rather than the coporeal manifestation of EVE.
For the record, i just tried to throw in as many big words as i could then. Wooo

So, yea, everything is passing, it is the question of the legacy, and the mark the passage leaves on us. For me personally, I think I will remember EVE as the best MMO I have ever played, at least so far.
For the developers, well it made them good money, secured the futures of their families for years and years to come, and it will probably be remembered fondly.
And this thread? Other than it made me respond, will not be remembered at all, after its useless existence on this forums.

When I got back in eve some peep told me
We are here because we arent elsewhere.
MMO arent eternal and do fade away and no ring or talisman will preventáthis.
And bottom line never did Henry Ford said that the Ford T would be the ultimate automobile. It was just a line into something better.

Eve has a lot of room to grow, unlike other, lesser MMOs.
There's planetary flight, system wide asteroid belts
The new graphics engine, walking in stations, planet colonization.
We're nowhere near the fading stage.

your missing the pint aren't you... eve will have a sequel. it will be called eve. but it will be a new game. then it will happen again.
yes eve will fade away, and eve will takes it's place. people will hate it and ask for the old eve because the game they played will fade away. and they will leave. new player will find this new game interesting and join in. and one day they too will find the game is not what it was when the joined and quit.
EvE as we know it will fade away.
but with walking
planetary flight
joystick control fps fighting in fighters
walking on planets
rts hybrid game for planets
being able to explore structures in space on foot
the new on foot combat RTS squad based thign in EON 4
once again the joystick stuff
graphics changes
pysicis changes.
As eve expandes inwards not outwards, it will soe day not even look like it does today. maybe not even play like it does today.
and maybe people will leave because CCP will stake the current eve in the chest.

1)At some point, Eve will die, then some players will hack it, make private servers and we'll be playing on some guys 32-cpu mini server with a terabyte of RAM in his basement.
(you know, his old computer his kids used before they went off to college).
I wonder what lag will be like then 
2)More likely, CCP will make a couple more great games, then get bought up by EA or Sony for immense amounts of money and be immediately driven into the ground in the name of maximizing profit.

EVE is about 4 years old, so we can calculate that by a probability of 95%, EVE is going to last something between 0.1 years to 156 years. Or with a chance of 50%, EVE is going to survive another 1.3 to 12 years.
That's J.R. Gott's formula applied to EVE that lets you estimate the remaining lifetime of something that exists already for a certain time.
Hope it helps some people to plan ahead.

CCP won't fade away because they have players like me. We pay them in cash through DD/CD. They will keep growing bigger.
But players like you will fade away. Not that it matters since you could be paying ISKs. Whatever it is, good luck in your next game. :)
