Hi,
I'm starting my first year in college soon and i'm gonna need a laptop. Ofcourse, i need it to run EVE. I was thinking of getting one of the following 2. The first on is cheaper, so i prefer that one. As long as it runs EVE. Your opinions please!
1: Intel« Core™ Duo T2080 2x 1,73 GHz Windows Vista« Home Premium 15,4inch Widescreen (1280 x 800) 1 GB DDR2 Intel« GMA 900 256 MB 729 euro's
2: Intel« Core™ 2 Duo T5450 2x 1,67 GHz Windows Vista« Home Premium 15,4inch Widescreen (1280 x 800) 2 GB DDR2 ATI HD 2300 Hyper Memory 1 GB 1000 euros

Shh - don't tell my boss but I run Eve on a Lenovo T41.
Here are the specs:
Win XP SP2 1.6Ghz Centrino 512MB RAM
I don't have any issues with Eve. Dreading the new graphics that are coming out. As for you, either one of those two laptops will work. I understand being a college student and trying to save where you can. However, if you can afford it go for the 2nd one.

Wow, thanks for the fast responses!
I quickly checked and sadly my school doesn't provide any with nvidia graphics. I could however get one from a shop nearby but thats obviously gonna cost me more.
I should also mention that both of those are Toshiba Sattelite's. Does anybody have bad experiences with them? I don't want to be buying a new one cause they break down easily. My budget is pretty limited being a student and all, and rent has to be paid too :)
Thanks again!

Go for choice #1, it should even let you play EVE with graphical updates as the Intel GMA 900 series have Pixel Shader 3.0 support. If you get choice #1 though, drop the CPU clock speed, you won't see a drastic difference, and instead add another gig of RAM (or move it to the lowest option and buy RAM from newegg, that would be cheapest option).

Ok I have a laptop that is very similar to this one and it has no probs running EVE (except when I am in a system where there are HUGE battles going on then it slows down a little bit, but I think just about everyone has this problem laptop or not )
Also I have a 2nd laptop that is only a standby system that is an Acer Aspire 3000 with an AMD Sempron +3000 mobile setup and even it runs EVE pretty well.
The only thing I have noticed when using a laptop to play EVE is there are a lot of them that have problems with the text being scrambled due to a video card incompatibility problem, but this can be fixed by making sure you have the very latest drivers. The text wo't be scrambled then but it will still sometimes be hard to read.
Also I have found that I need to use one of those cooling pads for laptops when playing EVE as it tends to make things a bit warmer than they feel like they should be. These pads cost about $20 and are a good investment for anyon with a laptop....

Option 1 is better - however, if your gonna get Vista, get 2 gigs of ram - the OS is a HOG Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe. Albert Einstein
