Thanks :-) As far as serious quotes go I enjoy those from kingdom of heaven.
"I put no stock in religion. By the word religion I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much religion in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. What god desires is in the head and in the heart and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not".
Well I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We are of course still recruiting so if anyone is intrested or just wants to say hi we are in the Kampala channel.
See you out in the black.

Well we're onto page two now ;-) Some great things have happened for the corp moneys been made goals have been surpassed we've had some really great guys come into the fold. I look forward to seeing where we are when we get to page three.
We are as always still recruiting and would love for you to stop by our channel.
Details from first post below:
Kampala is building a great community that focuses on finding good mates to fly with (because itÆs much more fun than making enemies :)
A mix of new and experienced players, weÆre having fun trying out different aspects of the game; based mainly in .4 and .5 sec, where we mine, trade and mission (weÆre building a rock solid PvE department).
The corp has common objectives û weÆll probably dive into lower sec sometime, if everyone fancies it, and weÆre building alliances - but weÆre interested in helping you achieve your goals too. Want to walk the road together?
Why donÆt you join our public channel for a while (Kampala) and see if you like the guys. WeÆre a bunch of friendly, easy-going grown ups, generally online GMT evenings/weekends.
Otherwise chat to one of our officers - N'jo Kampala (CEO, Head of Mining), Sis'ko (Head of Human Resource), Phantom Moonstone (Head of PvE).
See you around soon!

Hey there. I am quite new. I played the free play period for a week and then started my subscription yesterday. I tell you I am hooked.
I played online games going back for 13 years. I have always made a significant impact in the games I play. However, EVE looks like it could present the challenge I have been looking for in a game.
I am looking for a corporation not necesarily to hold my hand, but one that can be patient in the beginning of my rise to greatness. Haha.
I joined the public chat channel this morning, and Ill be back on this evening after work. Look forward to talking with you.

Bump with a bit of red dwarf thrown in for good measure :-)
Rimmer: This master character... and I acknowledge I may not want to know the full answer to this one -- but why does he want me oiling particulary? Obviously whatever he has in mind is facilitated by my being slippery and pliant, yes? Woman1: He always likes his victims to be oiled. An oiled body is so much better for conducting the electricity. Rimmer: Not the best news, but it could have been worse.

Todays quote:
Wayne Campbell: Am I supposed to be a man, am I supposed to say, it's OK, I don't mind. I don't mind. Well I mind! I mind big time? And you know what the worst part is? I NEVER LEARNED TO READ. Cassandra: Is that true? Wayne Campbell: Yes, everything except the reading part.

Edited by: Daedalus Rho on 22/11/2007 11:46:49 Hi, I'm a noob (don't be fooled by the age of my character, I had a trial account two years ago and just reactivated it!) looking for a friendly corp and you guys seem to fit the bill perfectly.
I'm spending most of my time running missions in 0.8-0.7 space atm, so it'll be a while before I make it to your HQ. I'm thinking about getting more into mining, so I'm saving up for a hauler.

Hey guys, I'll give this thread a bump as well.
I'm totally new to this game, 1 week in now. I discovered that wanting to pilot and fight, charisma wasn't the way to go so I started this char last night, hoping to do a little better in what I want to do. So if you might be recruiting nubbers, please read on.
My only experience from mmorpgs are the unspeakable game, known to most EvE players as a three-letter acronym, which I'm told we don't mention out in the open. Well, if you wonder, it consists of raiding, guilds, questing and grinding. And it's about 8 millions users world wide. 7,5 mill of them are 12-yearolds, and I'm getting tired of looking for mature players.
So I stroll around the web, seeing an ad for this game, and I download the trial. And so far I'm very very impressed. Mature people everywhere, and a damn interesting game. So I've decided to put some effort and make this my new main title to have fun with. Now I need a nice group of fellas to have fun with, mature and who aims to have fun.
I'm playing somewhere between 20-40 hours aweek, CET evenings mostly, with some hours spread during the day. As mentioned, I'm very new to EVE, but I'm a fast learner. I love to read guides and study the game I'm playing, especially if it's an advanced one. I've been a part of a international guild in the other game which we don't speak of, so VT, english written/spoken, all that is no problem.
Anyways, hope you have a spot for me, by the comments here you seem like the crowd I'm looking for. I have no idea of the time-issue it takes to evolve a character, but he's constantly in training. Right now 0.4-0.5-systems sounds quite scary, but again I haven't been there so I dunno. :D

Hehe, thanks. :) I'll add you to my addressbook though, it's my daughters 1st birthday tomorrow, so we're kinda stressed out baking and cleaning and stuff. I'll probably get a couple of hours of gaming time later tonight though, hopefully. It's the only way I can truly relax. And I need to take my new Merlin out for a ride. :D ________________________ I know I should say no, but, it's kinda hard when she's ready to go. I know I'm dumb, but I'm not a dweep, I'm just a sucker with no self esteem... |

Hi everyone Kampala is back recruiting, over the past week or so we had to let this thread drift to the back edges of the forum due to a merc corp declaring war. That war is now over and we are stronger than ever and we all had a lot of fun experiencing that side of the game.
Theres a lot going for us at this point in time I hope you'll stop by our channel "Kampala Public" (the old channel of Kampala had to be closed due to some weird admin/bug).
I look forward to speaking with you :-) Fly safe.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: For the experiment to be a success, all of the body parts must be enlarged. Inga: His veins, his feet, his hands, his organs vould all have to be increased in size. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Exactly. Inga: He vould have an enormous schwanzstucker. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: That goes without saying. Inga: Voof. Igor: He's going to be very popular.

One last quote from Gene Wilder!
Igor: Dr. Frankenstein... Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: "Fronkensteen." Igor: You're putting me on. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No, it's pronounced "Fronkensteen." Igor: Do you also say "Froaderick"? Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: No...öFrederick." Igor: Well, why isn't it "Froaderick Fronkensteen"? Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: It isn't; it's "Frederick Fronkensteen." Igor: I see. Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: You must be Igor. [He pronounces it ee-gor] Igor: No, it's pronounced "eye-gor." Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: But they told me it was "ee-gor." Igor: Well, they were wrong then, weren't they?

Holly: Everybody's dead, Dave. Lister: What, Selby? Holly: They're all dead. Everybody's dead, Dave. Lister: Petersen isn't, is he? Holly: Everybody is dead, Dave. Lister: Not Chen? Holly: Gordon Bennett! Yes! Chen, everybody. Everybody's dead, Dave. Lister: Rimmer? Holly: He's dead, Dave. Everybody's dead. Everybody is dead, Dave! Lister: Wait. Are you trying to tell me everybody's dead? Holly: I wish I'd never let him out in the first place.

Todays quote!
LISTER: What the hell is it? KRYTEN: I have no idea, sir. The craft does not appear to be of Earth construction. RIMMER: Aliens! They're probably going to return Glen Miller. LISTER: You what? RIMMER: That's what they do. All those people who inexplicably vanish, they return them. Aw, smeg, that's all we need. Glen Miller on board, boring us to death with "Pennsylvania 6-5000." KRYTEN, open communication channels.
RIMMER: (VO) We don't want him! Go away! You took him, you can keep the smegger!
