Dont know if I'm in the right place for this but does anybody know anything about the deep core mining? Where do you do it and what skills are required etc?

u do it way out in 0.0 space, they requiresment for the DCM laser is Mining lvl5 and Astrogeology lvl5

I understand that you should DCM in 0.0 for GREAT returns (with backup of course) but can you use a DCM laser on normal roids? to say get omber?
Reason I ask is, I caught a DCM in a 0.7 mining plagioclase and he was jettonising cargo containers with omber in them, he warped off (to get his bestower I guess), so I took a sneaky peak.
So back to my question, are you sure you can't use a DCM on normal roids?

useing dcm on normal riods ( this is PURE speculation ) gains a small amount more of Minerals .... dcm is like a miner 1 dont mine anything like veld,scord,plag with it the returns are less thana miner 1 but all the other riods u get more from..
as i said above ive not got a battle ship with 4-8 DCM miners to find out.., and i do little mining now. ( even with mining 5/astro 5 )

I got a a chance to use my DCM miners on a crokite rock earlier in the week. I couldnt find any Morphite so attacked a Crok rock. Seemed to work but it was slow going. Still not seen and of the new rocks and need to buy new dcms as i left mine deep in 0.0 to leg it home from bad guys lol.
Incedently i managed to get 2 dcms going at once on a maller, a corp mate reported having had hassle getting 2 going on a thorax. Just wish the maller had a better cargo hold.

you can use the deep core miners on all roids but you will only get the new mineral if you mine mercoxit if you mine ark you will get some but no as much as the ore itself want you need to do is find one get within 4800 m stop and maintian that distance the whole time this will prevent you from taking damage from the pollution cloud and you can use a normal container without fear of losing it only problem is you will get 1 ore per cycle per laser and believe me this takes time you are better off mining ark for the new mineral sorry for the long relpy if you have any other question contact me ingame
