So, I revist low sec placid after a while away to pick up some stuff, and it seems that gone are the good old days where certain systems were dangerous, full of either roving pirates or a few mission runners from close knit corps, now the whole of the state war academy seems to have taken over, must have seen 20-30 in just 2-3 jumps. I guess they're mission macroing or something, you see, last time I was in placid I lost a nice mission BC I was very happy with to a mission pirate, now there's hundreds of even more legit targets, but not very many pirates, surely a profit in there for someone, Loes seemed to be especially full.

i still hit lots of bubbles and camps heading up to placid but i also head up to placid from syndicate so its boun to happen.

There's a bunch of high quality mission agents in the area that specialize in courier missions. So the isk-farmers are busy pummeling the system with haulers galore. Over..and over..and over again.
The loot is crap tho, especially since the drop in cargohold expander prices. What they carry is usually worthless. (Gang of Janitors or Huge piles of trash, on occasion dolls or sides of beef or...you get the idea)
So its not really worth it financially to disrupt them :| Otherwise the system would be overrun with pirates mashing the passing industrials in the teeth with all varieties of ammunition.

Hunting macros in lowsec is terribly boring. If you don't mind it , you can try sniping with an amarr BS (to not waste any ammo on them) and aligned to warp in case a ganksquad passes by.
The most profit you can get is from salvaging their wrecks really...

System-lords took over management of placid, were being paid by the korean government to let the haulers isk farm. apparently isk is worth more than korean won now.

Placid is awesome, make a pilgrimage to Intaki and look at the chinese KESTREL SQUADS grinding out low level missions together.

I have been hunting these systems for a few days before this post was made. I must add that there seems to be a high level of anti pirates around melminel. It turns out that there is a LVL 5 agent in the only station in this system.
I think it would be a good system to become a pirate system.
The last tiem i was there i had just docked after a very nice bit of yarring in my solo vexor. I undocked and was warmly greeted by a blob of anti pirate BS and commandships.
I think if anyone was able to set up ops in this system to probe out mission runners you could make alot of isk

I travel frequently through a good portion of Placid. There are hoards of haulers and you can see local pop and drop from people whipping through. There are a couple of popular missioning systems as well. One could consider pinging my evemail if you were lookin' for some intel. Either way, good luck, and enjoy!!!

Nothing is wrong with placid the targets are there just got to find them is all.If you hang around and get to know the area you will see the patterns.

annancale, uphalant, iges and melmanial
Macro Haulers:
loes/agoze
Places to gate camp:
ostingele (people try to go through to go to 0.0 and lonetreak) dastryns (people in battleships trying to go do missions in uphallant) covryn (leads noobs towards covryn to do missions and allso leads people towards syndicate 0.0)
now i have made over 2500 kils in placid alot of everything and if you cant find anything to kill well then you suck

Hevrice is nice for the high/low sec interface gate and has immense amounts of isk farmer traffic.

if your looking for fun go to harroule in placid, do some low sec ratting and such.

Last time I salvaged some farmer bestower wrecks they dropped MCC salvage. Not sure what other indys drop salvage-wise.

MISSION MACRO's, FARMER's, or whatever don't drop good loot usually. They don't need to drop isk on mods if that just set their gang up accordingly to tank, remote rep, and deal damage. I've seen it a thousand times. Mission Macro's are teh suck.

We pretty much stopped shooting haulers, unless we have agression, its rarely worth it, most of them are macro dudes with no loot.

Yeah, i killed all the bad people over there. One day i had nothing to do, so i took my uber frigg and whent to Placid and killed them all, allmost all.
What can i say, i am a bad as*.
Now move along befor i come after you and put you in my cargo.
