I'm doing level 4 missions in a Dominix currently, and although I can handle most of them, they take ages and I really need to train for Tech II Heavy drones.
Meanwhile my gunnery skills are still very low, I don't spent much time training those skills compared to drone skills.
I'm thinking I might buy a Navy Megathron with the LP I'm getting doing missions, but I'm not sure which would be better in the long run, a Dominix with Tech II Drones, or a Navy Megathron with decent gunnery skills?
Any have any advice? |

stick with ya dominix and max ya drone skills and get bs lv5
your speed will increase alot
ALSO
about the LP's - choose the item on ya LP Store than will give you the most Isk/Per LP, then save up and either
A > Train for Ishtar and faction fit it
OR
B > Faction fit ya Dominix
and you've got a very effective , and easy mission runner
PS : by faction fit i mean upgrading with Core-XType Hardeners etc...
and just stick to it, IF you do go into 0.0 OR low sec, just be wary and make friends with the ppl that live there |

Thought that would be the best thing to do, and also less expensive LP wise.
I'm 23 days training away from an Ishtar though, are they good/faster/more fun for doing Level 4's?

Use a Hyperion. It will allow you to rep as much as a dual rep setup with half the cap, and you won't have to wait ages for your drones to get to each target to finish the mission. Should be the fastest lvl4 mission runner for gallente.
Course if you got crap SP and skills flying a gunship go Domi...

Domi should be faster than any other Gallente choice. Sentry drones if you don't have to move for a bit, Ogre II if you have to fly somewhere.
Unfortunately if you really want to mission fast you pretty much need to train Caldari BS. :(

And OMG _never_ ever run a cap flux unless you are trying to hit a certain cap % on a jump fit carrier. Even cap flux ii. Reduces your total cap recharge by reducing your cap size, plus makes your sweet spot of peak recharge smaller and thus harder to hit. Something else is absolutely always better.
Example, my skills with the previous hyperion fit: 7650 cap, 198.1 recharge = 92.7 cap/s peak
Same fit but swap flux coil II for cap power relay ii: 9000 cap, 215.1 recharge = 100.4 cap/s peak.

i do lvl 4 missions in a dominix and i think its doing very well.
u asked for advice so here is mine, sentry drones = HUGE increase in effective DPS.
wadrens have amazing stopping power at long ranges and powerful stopping power on incoming spawns.
gardes have great dps and tracking for anything upto 34km(with my skills) and can track good enough to hit even close range cruisers or destroyers.
heavy drones r slow, they take alot of time reaching and switching targets, their effective dps on the mission field realy sux in comparison to sentries.
i dont even carry heavy drones in missions since theres rarely any reason to move and if i do then i use mediums for a minute ("big deal").
as for the guy who said cap flux r bad, well basicaly i agree, but in certain setups where u want a 100% fully sustainabllity they sometimes fit perfectly.
on an armor tank they'r totaly useless since CPR use the same slot and r way better.
in shield tanking the CPR mean losing boosting so flux can tie the corners sometimes since its alittle better then a PDSII for recharge.

Domi all the way, max out your drones for Ogre 2s. Once you've done that you can train your gunnery up!
