If you hadn't gone into some psychobabble explanation as to WHY carebears don't fight, I might have agreed with you. In my case, I am more interested in building an empire than in vaporizing a random noob. Therefore, I'm labeled as a Carebear. But I've got 45+ BS kills and have lost 2 Carriers doing that Carebearing.
While Carebear is generally considered a deragatory term, and PVP'r is generally considered some sort of compliment, I actually disagree. In my experience, most PVP'rs are 8 year old boys with the attention span of a gnat that expect Eve to present them with something to shoot every 30 seconds or so. Ya know... something like the Donkey Kong players who spend weeks jumping over barrels then expect you to be impressed when they finish the level.
That being said (vented?), I'll agree that a Carebear is someone who tends to avoid fights, while pvp'rs think its the only thing to do in Eve.
well if you think your pvpers are all 8 year olds then you need a new alliance bud... It's true some industrial focused characters turn into pvpers and usually those are the best kind since they often have the patience to lead and think ahead of a situation.
I've been a PVP character my whole eve career and while I've only been interested in pvp I've done industrial things to help the corp/alliance I'm in like any good pvper would do. Could I be a lot richer with an industrial character... you bet your ass. But eve's pleasure for me is not in the making of isk and acquiring of rare "uber" junk since I've learned that pvp has much less to do with the ship you fly and much more to do with the nut that flies in it and those who fly next to that nut.
In 0.0 everyone must fight or everyone dies... even the "carebares". If you don't share this attitude go back to empire. You aren't ready to play eve online yet.
As to the word "carebare" very few know what it really means. In reality a carebare is a person who spends their time helping younger players and holding their hands and in a sense caring for those up and coming members in any eve career (there are lots of PVP carebares in alliances). 90% of eve players are carebares or have carebared. Those people who aren't carebares are the ones who go out, take initiative and do something for themselves and their friends without being lead around or having to LEAD OTHERS around by the nose.
True non-cares are a rare thing in eve.
