I am not one for long speeches or fancy words but I have taken it upon myself to speak for those who can no longer speak for themselves.
So for the millions of the Matar people who have died in the hands of their Amarrian over seers or seeking to free the people from their lives in bondage, we commend your souls to the ancestors and wish you all a better life in the next that was denied you in this.
And to the Amarr, time will tell who are the masters of the Matari but sadly I do not think the Amarrians will win that battle of hearts and minds.
And the fallen shall forever be remembered.
((ooc well i decided to add something to the forum for a while.)) to die for one's people is a glorious act. |

"Sadly?"
... never mind. It's clear enough what you were getting at, pilot. You're adding your voice to the chorus. I'm sure Ushra'Khan appreciates having another set of guns and lungs on its side.
You know, I'm not quite accustomed to viewing the Gallente and Caldari as New Eden's moderates, but I'm starting to think that we're precisely that. We sabre rattle often enough, but it's about ten times as hard to find anyone in either empire salivating over the prospect of an apocalyptic war of civilizations.

Your struggle was purely over secular rule. There is a dogmatic component to the Minmatar/Amarr struggle that adds a dimension far beyond the politics of your own strife. Although tribal ways are not as hostile to the Amarr as the Amarrian faith is to Minmatar, the continued persecution has shaped many of us to be just as ferocious toward the Amarrians as they are towards us.
So yes, the Gallente and Caldari would indeed be moderates compared to us, if you take statements such as these to be representative of the majority of the two empires.
Personally, I am simply saddened by the situation. The reliance of the Amarrians on texts thousands of years old binds them to a past that is irrelevant and prevents them from adapting culturally to a different world.
Similarly we are constrained by our tribal societies. There can be no abandonment of our kin in slavery. Family is the only important consideration, however extended that family may be. Our own spirituality demands we be treated equitably, and that our families and tribes be treated equitably by others. The continued insults of the Amarrians upon our still-bound kin prevent our peaceful co-existence. As well, we have to continually remind ourselves, each other, and the world in general of what is important to us. Although it is ranting, it also serves an important social purpose, and is almost ritualistic. In my own clan we take turns writing to the editors of local papers, exhorting readers to give a damn about things. Get them riled up, keep it in the public eye, that kind of thing.

Their descendants try to speak for them that fell all the time, as if they themselves were there. It is pleasing that you have not paid heed to their lies.
Sometimes Matari need to be wise, and make decisions that guarantee their survival rather than obstinancy in the face of the divine.

Like selling out your people for a fistfull of silver and a cargohold of divine intervention, speak your words ammatar for they condemn you to your ancestors and when you die and appear before them they will turn their back to you and assign your soul to the trackless depths. where you will walk alone for all time. to die for one's people is a glorious act. |

Edited by: Becq Starforged on 31/08/2007 20:32:59 Any who are saddened by the uncounted multitudes of our ancestors who died as victims of the inhumanity of the Amarr and who are willing to take arms to ensure that in some future day no further of our descendants will share their fate, are welcome to join us in our fight.
We come for our people.

Take a look at my corporate affiliation. The atrocities committed by the Amarr force sometimes leave us little choice...

Very interesting choices for one who sees it as glorious to die for his people. However it is clear that you are wise, for you chose not to fight against our Amarrian allies. No Amarrian force is a threat to our people should all belligerents makes the same decisions as you - that of building a future for our people rather than resisting progress through insurgency.

*laughs deeply*
More the fact I know my limitations, One day my missiles will fly and strike true for the Matari people but for now I am content with my decision to yet die for my people.
But rest assured Ammatar I will take up the defense of my people and then maybe we will meet on the field of battle and then we will see who follows the brighter path.
But for now I use my skills to better my people in my own way.

Your tone isn't one of a defender, it is that of an attacker. It is clear that you have no intention on seeking peace with your words of hatred and separation. If you made as many efforts to seek peace as you did for war, you'd be a greater man.

ahh well it was once said that the only good defense is a swift and powerful offense.
I do not intend to be a great man, if I die scratching a line just above good I will go to the place of my ancestors and face them proud of my life.
What can be said about you Amarrian pawn, to have betrayed and forsaken your people for what? A pat on the head and a treat from your amarrian masters, the chance to live a few more hours in the hands and under the shadow of an opressive race of arrogance inbreds.
well no accounting for taste really.

Wise words friend. This war has never been a clean one and we do not have the luxury of fighting it with clean hands. But if our hands and names are sullied by it then so be it so long as we do someday achieve what we set out to do.
Bring our brethren home and give them back the voice that was taken from them so long ago. 'Lord' Scagga is right about one thing, we were not there. But today their descendants still are, and they need help.
Who will give it to them if not us?

The ammatar sought to mar my words with his twisted logic, I do not seek this way of war, but I somehow do not think the Amarrians are going to face a table of peace and concede its ownership over what they consider half bred savages.
Though it saddens me that Minmatar are leaving behind hearth and home and are willingly throwing in their lot with the Amarr and to this day I cannot fathome the logic behind their actions, But I suppose there is no accounting for taste.
