Given the role of an interceptor to hold down an enemy ship, or to catch up to a target, it's a given that it is such a fast ship by base attributes, as many will notice ceptors get weapon bonuses, and they all get a Signature radius bonus "to decrease their signature" this would leave me to believe that it was not intended for them to use MWD's as this will null this bonus and increase the interceptors sig by great amounts. "I can see the flamers calling me crazy" But perhaps MWD's were ment as a balance for the larger ships to be able to get to a target and/or have a small way to try to fight off the speed of a ceptor.
would anyone consider giving the interceptor a special role bonus such as decreased cap use of warp Disruptors? I believe an AB Ceptor with say a -5% Cap use per ceptor level for the use of Warp Disruption moduals would not be an imbalance, as after all isan't this what a ceptor is intended to do in the first place? and i'm not suggesting a single ceptor but too all of them.
Or one may consider increasing the range of "Warp Scramblers only" by 25% or something a long these lines. "this allows a Tech II Warp scrambler to be used from 11,250/Ms which is just barely outside of web range. and then a Tech II Web only has a 10Km Range, imo this should be 12Km, Ye I know it has a -90% speed value but the range should also recive a small boost, atleast putting it in line with other faction moduals or close too.
My main point is, Ceptors should be viable with an AB II and some decent Nav skills rather than a MWD, as an MWD was ment more so to allow slower ships more speed, enabling them to be at some on pair level with an interceptors speed. "and before some one gets the wrong idea, I don't want to nerf MWD or Ceptors from going 10Km/sec +. I just believe there should be a bit more verity in how the ship is useable. as it seems people think faster is better, but not if it can't be maintained for a long enoth period of time to be fesiable. and thats without sinking an arm and a leg into the ship to-do so.
anywho let the flames burn, and the Babies cry. These are just some ideas, please share yours constructively.

A snaked+rouge implanted crusader with max skills goes 3km/s with a gistii mwd
but I like the ability to zoom out of interdiction spheres
MWD's on larger ships are meant for bumping carriers out of docking range silly

Tackling bonuses have long been suggested for Interceptors in place of the damage bonuses they now receive and I generally think that's a good idea. On the other hand, I'm not sure I see the point of a power cost reduction for warp disruptors on an afterburner-based interceptor -- you're not going to have a problem with cap in that situation anyway. It's also not true that the signature radius bonus is completely useless with a microwarpdrive running -- battleships still take a tracking penalty due your decreased signature, though of course frigates and cruisers do not.

More like 10, with semi decent skills and no snakes.
Perhaps you were thinking a battleship or dreadnought??? ----------------------------

I don't think CCP initially really meant for interceptors to be relegated to a "tackler" role. It's just the role players usually give them.
And the sig bonus is especially useful for an mwd interceptor, as without it it would have the sig radius of a battlecruiser with mwd on and would be hit hard by even battleship size weapons. ------------------

I think you need to read the role 'interceptors' - they are made to intercepot larger ships... they also have much more capacitor than normal frigates and even AF's, this is to compensate for the cap reduction on equipping the MWD.
The high speed and low wieght mean the speed boost recieved from a microwarp on a ceptor is much greater than the signature penalty, so it balances perfectly. Also most ceptor's that are used for the old web/scram tackle role MWD into range, then cut the MWD - dropping the sig again.

The role of an inty isnt only to hold down targets. they can do anti frig really well and anti destroyer/t2 variant.. i use my crusader for combat but i still can tackle though.
