I'm really interested in knowing why they uysed a scimitar... I love the ship but it uses tracking links to boost turrets...
so... why not any of the other logtisics ships that have better cap?

pls i have a question. 1 of the winning teams used 3 ravens and a scimitar. what the point on using tracking bonused logistic ship with missile ships? Would not be better to use a basilisk or a guardian?
I just now see that someone had the same question alredy :)

It could have to do with the sig radius. Since they where shieldtanking they wanted either a scimiter or a basilisk, although the basilisk probably can rep more hp/sec then the scimiter the scimiter is faster and has a smaller sig radius. IIRC the basilisk is the slowest logistic with the largest sig radius while its the oposite for the scimiter.

Why they used a Scimitar?
Uber low sigradius? Lowslots for a couple cap relays?
4large shield transporters are enough to "need" to get a basilisk instead... unless you had two basilisks capboosting each other for that "free" energy

Our losses were 1 Blackbird (Dee Carson's) and 1 Celestis (Dookagalla's). It was an awesome fight though and we were quite tense the whole way through. One of our poor Caracal pilots was so focused on what he was doing, he thought we were losing til the very end. For us at least, it was a nailbiter the whole time.

I was just hoping we showed a good match :) good to know we are showing what our alliance is wroth when it comes to PvP and teamwork. I wanted to get our team together for the sake of showing that we can hold our own, despite what part of eve we just like the most :P
thanks for the good match, hopefully well still pass into the final round and get a show off with some even greater alliances.

4 transporters are possible but the scimi gravely lacks powergrid to fit anything remotely resembling a tank then. but 2.5 LST and a speed tank are quite doable, especially as i can't see too many inties here.

I wouldn't say a speedtank is a good idea. Got too much stuff to worry about to be able to watching the health of your team, but yes if done right it would work better.

On the countrary! As a seasoned "vet" and part time advisor to 2 teams in the tourney,
I'm astonished to see any team fielding a Basilisk!
The Scimitar is way superior to a basilisk, in so many ways.
First off, the lack of low-slots on a basilisk makes it "un-sustainable". The slot layout of the Scimitar (4-5-4) on the other hand is perfect!
Second, the Scimitar has a much much better shield resistance. Not only is it much easier to get a good overall resistance, but further if you end up with a hostile Curse disabling all active hardeners you're not a sitting duck with 0% EM.
Third, the Scimi has an extremely low sig radius (for a cruiser), which further lowers the damage that can be dealt to it considerably (of course, this also has a drawback - if your team is dampened it takes far longer for the team to get a lock and remote boost a scimitar than a basilisk!)
Am I forced to have any regret?
