I've met only people that do honor them. there are people that just want to scam you, but "never pay" is not a good advice.

Out of all of those I've seen, not a single one has been honored. Ever. Go to a tournament if you want that... Otherwise expect to get ganked if you give a location to meet at in 5 mins. Honorable pirates respect their clients and allow them safe passage out. The other's aren't really the majority of the whole. If you can't be trusted to honor ransoms then you shouldn't even be a pirate because you'll just be sifting thru wrecks and usually never getting rich. Isk is the name of the game at the end of the day so if you shut your opportunities off due to such behavior then it is your own fault and hopefully so you should be broke within a week. If you accidently killed the client or he took too long to pay but DID. give the isk back. You will gain more respect from your clients that way. AND, they should learn to pay sooner. When it comes to bounties, thre are two basic rules: 1) don't try to haggle, pay or don't; 2) you're released without further harm. I don't make a habit of ransoming people personally, but I do every now and again. If people make a counteroffer or so much as utter the words "i only have" convo is closed and the ship is finished without a second chance given. If they pay quickly and easily, I warp out and leave them alone. If the ransomee has a good attitude about the whole thing, I leave them alone for the day and let them go about their business. Couple of times I've helped them finish missions, one guy was having trouble killing the frigs in his mission, so I warped back in with my wolf and popped them for him so he could complete. Anyway, sorry you got ripped off, sadly posting here is about all you can do aside from getting revenge on your own. While there may be no laws in low-sec, there's a code of not-being-an-asshat. edit: read the thread again, this time paying attention. lol.

As much as it pains me to agree with a goon... yeah. As an example, I popped an ishkur, looted 2 125mm rail II, 1mn mwd II, 2 EANM II and a small rep II. Few months ago, this was near a 30mil haul. At present, it's barely 6 mil. Got a brutix and looted a few heavy ion II's and active T2 hardeners, these days the loot barely covered the cost of barrage M I had to send into him. Dishonoring ransoms is still a ****ty way to go about compensating for the lack of loot income, however.
