Hello CCP,
Just a request of a statement...
1. Overview, tactical view broken.. example.. fleet battle .. alignment set and burning primary call ... overview shows 9000 m from target tactical shows 60 km and logged target 40km .. all the same primary targets .. after a while bruning away from target .. lagg and reset of the half fleet into the enemy deimos fleet at 5km...
2. roaming through some systems .. jumping into a system ... all fine .. jumping into another takes about 2 minutes without loading system .. next system jump in .. all fine again few seconds system loaded...
Any explanation ?
are there other players with the same issues ?

Your computers clock is drifting relative to the server.
There's a thread about it here
The tl;dr is that there's a potential fix on Sisi which involves re-synchronising the client every 10 minutes. It used to be done every jump and that got broken sometime around Crucible. |

thanx for the replies so far .. the tl, clock could be a good explanation ... and yes it started with the release of crucible. Dont know the patch / build number for sure .. |

Most annoying **** ever. Overview is ****** completely. So ******* annoying. CCP dont give any fucks about it though. You noticed how slowly the overview updates now too? Some times it's unplayable. |

The workaround for TQ is that you need to setup your computer to sync time with a network time server every 10 minutes. There are plenty of google pages on this but for Windows 7 its a couple of registry changes and a reboot.
Like I said in the thread, only reason I know about this is because I suffered from it back in 2009/2010 and I noticed it again in December.
Once you've done that then if you then have problems just tab to desktop go into Date & Time (on clock in taskbar), internet time, change settings, update now. That will get you past the immediate problem of traffic control/grid not loading etc. Note that there may not be an "update now" button if you haven't changed the registry.

start > run > regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config > updateTimer > dec value 600 instead of 360.000

This is incredibly annoying and it always happen the moment you least want it to happen. I can't recall this being a problem a year ago so it must be something "new", but it needs to be solved asap. |

Yep overview has been screwed for about 3 weeks. Distances wrong and everything.
Are you sure it's the same time sync problem? In that thread it's on about lagging jumping into system not de-sync like problems. I've recently been scrambled and webbed from 250km multiple times... Only to double tab to reload overview and then it shows they are actually at 7km.. |

The problem is there is no specialpollinterval in win 7 x64 ultimate. is it recommended to add those key and value to the registry?. |

Oh gods don't ask me 
All I know is the CCP guy in the linked thread said the client was "re-synchronised" every jump and that "broke" with Crucible.
I doubt he means that this corrects the clock on the client machine.
I suspect that correcting the clock (as I do via ntp) forces the client to re-sync rather than anything else.
I'm speculating though.... |

exactly what happened by me also... if we can not fix it with the windows reg edit I hope they will fix it in the next update. or client update. with those issues we loose a massiv amount of isk... |

It's rude to poll a public time server with a dumb client more often then every few hours. If your clock drifts that badly over 6 hours, then you need to install something like NTP which will discipline the local clock and keep it more accurate over time.

There is but its under W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpClient
I would recommend you google a bit more on "SpecialPollInterval" - there is a guide for XP/Vista which will work in Windows 7. Don't go reading the ntpserver links, its not the same. |

Its not "rude" to "poll" a Stratum 2 NTP server every 10 minutes. Its quite acceptable and if you think otherwise I suggest you ask the admins of those servers.
Of course if you have multiple machines on your LAN then you setup a Stratum 3 server to both minimise external traffic and time skew between LAN machines. Edit - the latency reference was for multiple machines on same LAN independently syncing with external ntp server.

I will look into it, but if the change to a ntp doesnt help and the windows shows the right time the bug should fixed by ccp.
if the time doesnt drift on the client there could be a issue with the session timer thingy ... |

See how it goes then, hopefully it helps.
Client clock drift WILL cause all sorts of weird crap as said in the other thread. I've been killed by people I can't see, who aren't in the same system as me and on one memorable occasion who I'd actually watched explode and then reappear 
There is a proposed fix on sisi anyway - best test there before doing registry changes. If sisi works better then I suspect TQ will work much the same with the ntp client registry changes in Win 7. |
