Edited by: Trebor Notlimah on 03/09/2007 03:26:48 My client has been randomly crashing right when i land at certain belts or jump gates. Sometimes i try logging back in and it crashes again as soon as I land. I few of my friends have eben having the IDENTICAL problems and it makes pvp hazardous for our health. Does anyone have a fix for this and/or experiencing the same problem? It started after the last patch.
PS: Running Vista x64 (and dont trun this into a thread about how vista caused AIDS)

BUMP! Jesus, still happening after reinstall and clearing my cache. This bug is serious enough where I can't play any more. About a dozen drops in one evening of pvp. Needs a fixing.

Disabling audio should stop the client from crashing on warp in. We are presently investigating the exact cause of this.
Additionally, it would be a good idea to run logserver if you have been experiencing this issue. Logserver will generate a crash dump file if the game crashes, which you can send to us by way of a bug report.

Mine reboots my PC. Sick as **** here as I have been warping into fights only for my PC to switch off.

Edited by: Trebor Notlimah on 04/09/2007 05:00:23 UPDATE: Did a little testing and it only happens when human players are at the 1) belt or 2) jump gate. Never planets or stations for me.
It doesnt happen all the time but its never happened unless I was warping in on a human player.
I will test with nosound and i will post any logserver info I can muster up

Yup.. thats exactly what happens to me
when ever there is someone at a belt/gate/station and there is some kind of pvp action, i always seem to crash. Occasionally i crash when there is someone on the gate already, but its more frequent when there is some kind of shooting action going on. Almost every time it happens, i get a wierd gun shooting sound thats extremely loud right before i crash. One method i found out that works is to simply have the game minimized when i see that my ship warp speed is declining.

Mine got rejected too. I was told that it wasn't a problem with EVE and was most likely a problem with my ISP, despite the fact I am having no problems with my ISP and I am having exactly the same problems as everyone here. ---------------------------

I've had the same issues a while back, but on XP. Crashing randomly at gates / jumps / belts. It actually was a problem with my disk-structure, I had some bad crosslinked files/clusters.
Ran CHKDSK /f and problem solved. Event log should show any disk related problems, but running a diskcheck will at least guarantee that you doesn't have any diskrelated issues.

I tried disabling my sound and it made no difference, it still crashed. This is a very frustrating issue for me. I hope it is resolved soon.
Other things I have tried:
Running in Windowed mode (I usually run in Full Screen) Changing Audio cards (I have 2 in my system) Disabling audio cards all together. Changed my 8600GTS for an X800XT
None of these fixed the problem.
Don't know what else to try and it won't be long before I lose a ship to this.

Edited by: Gawster on 10/09/2007 14:04:08 Im using vista and use the onboard Realtek soundcard.
For me the problem with the CTD was the sound. When I turned the sound off the crashes stopped and as soon as turned on the problem came back.
But I did find that there was a update on vista for my realtek soundcard and now I can play with sound. No CTD for 8 hours of playing so far. This will probably not help all, but for some it might. Also some other threads say that disabling the hardware acceleration might help some, but this can also screw it up for some TS users.

Edited by: Falkrich Swifthand on 10/09/2007 16:38:52 I just had it warping to where my mates were salvaging wrecks at the end of a level 3 mission.
Every time I logged in, I'd warp there and eve would exit (no error box or anything). Hardware accelerated sound was already disabled in eve, so I disabled sound entirely and I was fine then.
Windows XP x64, on-board Realtek AC97 (I think).
NOTE: Didn't happen when warping to my mates while they were shooting things in the same place earlier on.

Let me guess
Run dxdiag
See your audio driver listed as:
Realtek Audio HD
I've experienced a seperate issue with multiple clients and BSOD with creative drivers, because they are bad too.

So is there a fix comming?. I do hope so as all i seem to find is temp fix notes of 'disable sound'! This is just not good enough, I have allready lost 2 ships in low sec. I left EVE many moons ago because of such unresolved issues and have only just returned. I dont want to have to do it again.
Big Up to all forum users, without u guys nothing ever gets done.

I just had it happen last night in my hulk, rats spawned and crashed the client. Not sure if it was my second accounts drones or the rats that caused the crash. The day before that I had to warp into a friendly gate camp 3 times before I finally opened the map while in warp so the 5 ships on the gate wouldnt crash the client. I never play with sound and have been playing a year this way without trouble until the last week or so. My petition is still pending on my hulk loss, hope the devs see its a real issue now and approve it.

Run EVE under Windows XP SP2 in Compatability Mode, and also as admin. I also had similar problems, Vista 64, and turning these on fixed my problems. The easiest way to check and see if it's fixed is to log into test and warp into FFA1, if you crash it's a different problem, no crash and it's all good.

Not in my case, I don't have realtek HD. I'm using the ill-fated asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard (the one where the Northbridge fan seizes up on 90% of them), which only has a Realtek ALC850 chip. I can't remember whether I'm using nvidia's or realtek's drivers for it though, I'll check tonight.
