Yesterday, I logged off at a moon and when I logged on today I had found myself at what looked like the same location (99% sure), dead in the centre of a "sphere" of beacons called forcefield arrays, that "repelled any object that came near" and were apparently impervious to fire. Indeed they worked as described, but I managed to find a hole between the overlapping force fields and got out.
Here are the piccies. Notice how big the sphere is.

Now...there is a possibility I hadn't noticed them yesterday when I logged off as I was knackered, but chances are I would have bounced off the forcefield, and being in the exact centre is kinda suspicious...

I think someone wants to test out something, or someone and/or CCP wants ppl to stay away from something!
As seen in my comment, unless a dev answers what this phenomena is, will have no clue about it?!

They hardly want anyone to stay away as it was a sphere, not a wall or anything.

Hmm looks very similar to the championship arena, I logged in once and found myself there before the event started, a GM transported me back to my previous local.

These things can also be found near the Ceremonial Grounds in various 1.0 systems.
