Since the latest update, I'm hearing virtually every sound-effect twice! Explosions, gate activations, you name it... Any ideas how to correct this problem?

Ditto on that problem and changing settings name made no difference. I get the double explosions when killing npc rats and also on jump-in to a system and warping to the next system.
Also 2.2 was supposed to fix the problem where at some stations the reprocessing percentage was frozen at 5%. It has not done so, at least in my case.

I have this issue as well. Is there any known workaround for this? And when will this be fixed?

Double sounds are happening to me also. I'm using the latest drivers from my MB manufacturer for SoundMax integrated Audio chipset

<aol /> on the sound issue. WinXP with Sigmatel audio hardware on a Core Duo machine. Not that I'm playing with sound enabled too often these days.

Yep, my MAIN double sounds are rats exploding, and that cloaking sound you make after you jump into a new system after your session change on your comp finishes to let you know its loaded.
On a random note, on the "warp noise" I get the boom when entering warp, but also when exiting warp. and I never got the boom when exiting warp. Its annoying, especially for short warps you think its doubling. I mean, why do you have a "boom" when your coming out of speed of sound, you don't, only when entering.. Its just something annoying that wasn't there before as well.

Bug-repoted and known. Just keep sending in those bug-reports with your dxdiag results so they can narrow it down either via hardware, or software.
I'd also recommend sitting it out. IT isnt really game-breaking now, is it? -
