Recently i went from 1152x864 Eve to 1280x960.
Started to get very used to the bigger screen and then i checked some of my fraps footage.
Blurry and stuff then i remembered the 1152 limit.
I`m sure the situation explains itself here, but i was wondering if there is a way to fraps good quality at 1280x960 or am i doomed to change resolution back to 1152x864?
Computer is a 3 year old Amd 64 3200 with 1gb RAM (doh).
Any help is truly appreciated on this matter.

You cannot FRAPS above 1 million pixels per frame without a dual core CPU and FRAPS 2.8.2 or later.
1280x800 is the max.

Edited by: Excesse on 04/09/2007 22:29:43 On that system you might want to fraps at 50% resolution, I used to have a P4 3.4 with 1gb ram (see my last video) and the best it could manage was to chug away while frapsing 960*600 (50% of 1920*1200).

The problem with half-resolution FRAPS is that it doesn't resize the image via interpolation--it throws out half the horizontal and half the vertical pixels outright. This generally means text and such is completely unreadable.

Is there any recorder that resizes it correctly? (Via interpolation I think you said?)

Theres no solution so far for us "none dual core" users... i wish someone could get their hands on Fraps source code and manage to remove the artificial limit, bcos i attleast can say that my system could otherwise handle better resolutions... in meanwhile, just fraps at low res and try and find some "cheap" dualcore processor :)

No, because it would be slower than not resizing it at all.

Recently upgraded to fraps 2.9.1 build 6680, was using 2.8.2 previously. it works a treat recording wise, but as soon as i hit record, whatever audio is playing, be it music or voice comms, starts to distort and after 10-15 seconds will cut out completely.
and yes, i've turned "record sound" off, tried reinstalling fraps and audio drivers. any suggestions would be much appreciated.
running on X2 4400+ dualcore, X-Fi extreme music, recording to a 250GB Seagate barracuda

Even when not recording sound at all your sound distorts and cuts out after about 15 seconds? Euhm.. I'm guessing you've tried google, so I'm not gonna, but it almost sounds as if your mobo can't handle the throughput and cuts the (PCI) bandwidth your sound card uses or summin.. You could try recording something other than eve, or eve in low quality (actually make your eve windowed and small), see if that gives any different results..

heh. no i was saying that when recording, audio starts to distort and cut out. but the PCI bandwidth idea could be something to think about. it's an MSI K8N Diamond Plus, and handles almost everything pretty damn nicely. i will experiment though. but given that it used to work just fine, recording at the same quality, i get the feeling it's possibly a software issue rather than hardware

If you do a bit of research your mainboard, possibly with a bios upgrade, will allow you to install one of the dual core Athlon 64s.
