Edit - I obviosly blotted out the URL so that I am not giving them any more advertisement, but I did check to see if they were infact offering ISK for sale and that is what their website claims. Pick your MMO and buy your game's curancy.

do we really have to keep explaining this?
the adds are generated by a 3rd party and applied to the site to support and cover the costs of running it, without significant effort you cannot block them all Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve-Forums:

Didn't CCP recently remove links to fan pages that had google ads for isk sellers, saying that they were "easy" to remove?
Seems pretty odd that they would have those on the eve-tv site.

Weak sauce by EVE TV. I thought one of the reasons we were paying for eve tv was so we don't have to be subjected to this #$%^&*(? Not to mention the link above saying this is a big no-no.

The screenshot you see is from the free "reruns" of the alliance tournament. Obviously, the revenue had to come from somewhere else except viewers (since it's, well, free and all), so they used ads. Now, NOT screening their own ads against ISK-selling sites, that is indeed a big no-no, especially after CCP's statement regarding sites that unwillingly promote ISK sales.
Although... EVE-TV is not quite 100% CCP, so you can't blame their "host" for not screening ads. Still a no-no, but a smaller one as you make it seem like. _

Just wanted to know WHY PEOPLE CRY SO MUCH. If you're so dead set against buying isk "THEN DON'T" If you're not contributing to the cause then YOU don't have much to worry about.
If someone chooses to BUY ISK, Like in any other MMO I played in the past , Let them.
Funny thing is it's not against the rules for you to buy someones $$$ with GTC - "That in it self is ISK SELLING"

Or you could, you know, learn to play the game and get your own money. It's not like ISK is hard to come by. And having a billion ISK in the wallet doesn't do you much good if you can only fly T1 Frigates. :p

Im sorry. But how cant you blame the guys from evetv? We have had this case over and over again, with fansites using google/whatever ads, which links to isk sellers. And we always knew what the answer was to that: Dont use those ads. End of story.
Now evetv chooses to use them. And they are clever people. Now dont tell me their cant either from previous experience, just figuring out themself(Maybe they should try and search for eve on google, and see what pops up? Chances are the same will end up in their ads), or at least seek advice?
This is a poor show of performance. They should know better. Alot of new people watch evetv. And if they see that theres ads for buying isk, they would think: "Well, this is evetv. You can trust them. So surely buying isk is ok!".
Now take yourself a bit together evetv. You were ignorant when you choose use jalipo for the evetv episodes. But using these kind of ads? This is terrible terrible.

That's very disturbing. I cannot believe that CCP would endorse something like these Alliance Championships, and allow something they specifically forced fan sites to remove.
I hope it is an oversight, and not a decision made by the CCP team.

Uh, So what? It doesn't matter who publishes for CCP- It's CCP that are still responsible for what MMM publishes, seeing as they are, y'know, being employed by CCP to do their publishing.

As far as i know, MMM publishing is totally seperated from CCP, and dont get money from CCP. So how is MMM publishing employed by CCP? I suppose CCP only gave MMM publishing a license to write about eve.
So exactly how can CCP be held responsible? Its not breaking any rules. Its just bad moral what happend.

MMM will be on a contract with CCP, You don't think that MMM just goes ahead and puts whatever they feel like into their magazines and websites do you? BAHAHAHHAHAHA YOU SERIOUSLY DID! DIDN'T YOU?! lololololol
No.. Everything published by MMM will need final approval by the CCP marketing leads therefore making CCP responsible for anything MMM publishes. I never mentioned anything about breaking rules, I'm just saying that it's dumb to try and distance CCP from this because they are just as associated with advertising isk selling as MMM is.

CCP get a cut and would have a direct say on the goings-ons of the EveTV handling.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.
If CCP didn't make a cut of the profits, they wouldn't bother providing or outsourcing it. CCP should at the very least be contacting them and advising them remove these adverts or filter the ones allowed through.

Its people like you that contribute most to ISK selling.
ISK buyers are most to blame for this problem. Since there is a perfectly legal way to buy ISK (buy GTC, sell GTC for ISK), doing it illegally is a much bigger problem. I'd advocate for stronger punishments as well, but since both parties eventually get exact same treatment (permaban) thats superfluous.

Sure, CCP likely does get a cut. But thats not relevant to the case, is it?
CCP have a clear hand in what goes on with the live alliance tournament streaming. But not really for the weekly Evetv. Listen to the WDA podcast with Zap as guest. Everything is explained there.

The problem is more the people that can turn isk into $$$, who are the sort that advertise on such sites. Because ISK then is worth real life currency it leads to them using all sorts of game breaking exploits to make it. If people would just use GTCs <> ISK only, then the people who want to buy isk still get it, and the isk likely comes from people playing how they typically play anyway, rather than some game breaking macromining/missioning source.
Buying isk from isk sellers is endorsing the ISK > $$$ conversion which is the real problem.

Why does it have to be all these discussions every time something like this happens, especially now when CCP has clear rules how about links like that.
But I still think it's quite irresponsible by EveTv to use google ads when they now that a large part of the adverisers there are selling ISK.

Google ads have been known to display ads from ISK sellers. Using Google ads without applying any filters in this case, was an understandable oversight by a business partner who was not aware of the problem we have had with ISK selling ads. This will of course be fixed and we thank you for pointing this out to us.
Allow me to use this opportunity to once again stress the importance of not doing business with ISK sellers. Those who buy ISK from them are paying for the presence of ISK spammers and macro gangs amongst other things. Oh, and the ISK will be confiscated by a GM.
Enjoy the game.

I believe they were, however EVE VAULT linked directly through the community tab, continues to have a nice large set of isk adverts , they don't change so it's not random and/or chance, even if it does say google.
