Seems to me the abaddon can pretty much tank and gank better then it even the cap isn't that hard to maintain 8 mega pulses with decent cap skills...

if cap is a huge problem then yes it does do better than the Abbadon, but the abbadon does have better tank and gank considering you have have meds full of Cap Rech IIs and some cap rigs ---------------------------------

Navy Apoc is way better for npcing/mission running
The Abaddon has a huge cap problem, even if you have good cap skills (which I do for example) and even if you fit an above average amount of cap modules (which I did when I tested the Abaddon)
Key to face npcs is MAINTAIN cap even when nossed by the npcs. With my cap rigged abaddon I had to flee sometimes when some npcs started to NOS With my non-rigged Navy Apoc I never ever had to flee from any npc and I fit a maximum of 4 cap related modules.
Abaddon can have better quick damage performance. But Navy Apoc can tank anything forever, even under heavy nossing. That is more important when confronting npcs, I think

The Abaddon is superior ship. The only thing the Navpoc has on it is more cap and that extra slot.
What the Abaddon lends itself for is resistance tanking. On mission running, when starting out, run four active hardeners, and possibly a DC. With a little outlay for officer hardeners - you can get your resistances in the low nineties - I've tanked over 15 BS'es (Sansha ofc) doing as such.
Flying Amarr NPC'ing is all about cap management - I love how people complain how their unrigged Abaddon runs out of cap because they are trying to run perma dual rep yet only fit 2 hardeners or try to make an omni tank - I use my (crappy) hardener very sporadically - there's combat missions where I don't even have to turn it on.
As your damage gets up there you can scale back the hardeners usage and toss in a few HS's. With faction ammo, my damage multiplier has passed the 10X mark.
Geddon, Apoc, Navy Apoc, and Nightmare - the Abaddon is better than all of them. Say hi to Leandro.

yet the navy apoc costs over 3x as much as an abaddon.. why? where is the logic and balance in that?

Its a faction battleship and thus is more rare that Abbadons ... which you can find anywhere.
To the OP:
I found the Abbadon better over then Navy Apoc simply because its easier to fit a whole rack of Tachs on an Abbadon and snipe. The Navy Apoc is a cap machine ... but compared to the raw DPS of an Tach-Adon ther just is no contest.

I have to strongly disagree with you here. I fly an abaddon, bought a navy apoc and tried it for missions. They took way longer because of damage differences, and apoc was more irritating to tank cause of lack of resists. Sure it had more armor, and the cap was not an issue, but my abaddon setup has worked wonders, no cap issues, and a good deal of damage. Granted, it's also because I know how to handle the missions now and dont need to fit an ungodly tank, but my skills arent pwnage, nowhere nar pvp skils to fly it anyway.

Only NPCs that nos are Bloodraiders, and yes, depending on your setups and the mission it might be wiser to use the Navy Apoc when facing those, for the rest the Abaddon will outperform the Navy Apoc.

That might explain it. For we have Bloodraiders in our region where I dwell and even a cruiser spawn with nos pose a treath to a rigged Abaddon.
