I just got my second ,Maller, going to use her for NCP hunting amd maybe try it as a dcm platform.
I keep reading here that the Maller sucks pvp. Ive never found out yet, so far my pvp expierence consists of ctds and debris 
Seems every other races tier 3 cruisers are great pvp..so why does the Maller suck so much?

Yeap your right about mallers sucking for pvp, the things just a flying cofin.
Mallers suck for 2 reasons
1. cap is life in pvp, heavy beams gulp cap therefore you die fast
2. launchers spread megadeath for frigates/cruisers, 2 salvos of torps from a caracal can take just about anything, a maller has no launcher slots so sucks.
Mallers need a major cap boost to be competative with other teir 3 cruisers atm their just a lite snack for other ships

hmm yeah i always fancied a launcher on the first Maller and my Omen for that matter. I guess missiles rule  either that or the Ammarr ships need a major cap boost.

I agree that the Maller might need a cap boost, but part from that it is an Amarr vessel through and through. Not great at 1v1, though a skilled pilot can hold his own, yet in fleet battles it can assist with good damage output.
A Maller can flay a Blackbird in short order if the jammer is working on your capital ships, for example.
I'd keep it as is in general, but give it some loving cap wise.

The way I see it Thorax=Maller + 8 heavy drones.
Maller needs a launcher slot! Those Bloods have got them I don't see why we can't 
And while they're messing with High slots, Arma and Dom need a launcher point each too

From what i see it needs either one or both of the following
It needs its Energy wepon cap reduction bumbed up to 10% per lvl. This leaves more low slots free for proper armor tanking.
It needs more base armor. In the range of 300 hp. Right now its just barely over a thorax's base armor lvl and doesnt much make up for its lack of shields and drones and missile harde spots.
Other than that its a fine vessel. Just needs some loving.

Blood Armas already got launcher slots. Blood Augorors don't have launchers but the Augoror used by the Rouge Pirate Escort (seen with missions) has them.
The new Guardian cruisers from Serpentis (Initiate to Captain) are black Thoraxes with missile launchers.
You usually find them in 0.0 space but I have encountered Initiates in empire space.
Without heavy drones, don't think that a Thorax is the equal of a Maller. In fact, without drones or missiles as a factor, the Maller will own any level 3 cruiser. It is the most powerful gunship cruiser there, relying on pure turret power. It's powergrid is the highest of any cruiser. While it has bonuses for lasers, its not a damage bonus. The enormous grid of the Maller means it can fit five 250 rails or five heavy neutrons or even 5 720 howitizers for sheer brute power. And keep one slot for a smartbomb to spare.

use a SmartBomb or 2 to counter the missiles!! omg, just couse a Ship doesnt have missile slots doesnt mean it sucks...
