Has anyone else noticed that NPCs are warp scrambling during almost every mission? Until the last server update before 2.2 I'd never been warp scrambled during a mission, now it happens almost all the time.
I wouldnt mind so much if it was easier to see who was warp scrambling, like the target scrambling message. Atleast you have fighting chance then, otherwise its impossible to see the scrambling messages amongst the hundreds of other damage reports.
Cheers,
Jack

What level of missions are you talking about? There has been zero change to L4s anyway...

I've been getting warp scrambled in level 4 missions for the whole of the 6 months I've been doing them. Certainly warp scrambling is more common now than when I started, but I think this has been a gradual change, and not linked with 2.2.
Warp scrambling is almost always frigates (or equivalent) orbiting a few KMs away. There is also a graphical effect - a series of faint blue blocks striking you from the scrambling ship. It can be difficult to see in some of the bright, cluttered environments, but locking the camera on each frigate in turn should help you to find the scramblers.

I still get rarely scrambled, as always. The total chance must be under 10%.

I'm talking about level 4 missions, although i've heard comments of similar issues from other people doing level 1 + 2 missions.
Last 8 weeks or so i've been doing nothing but missions really and all of a sudden i'm getting warp scrambled pretty much every mission, unfortunately i've discovered this to be the case too late and lost 2 expensive ships as a result.

I got scrambled on the last wave of blockade 4 by sanshas... I had NEVER been scrambled by them until recently. Hell, I had never seen a sansha scramble period.

And the problem is? In the OLD days they always scrambled. So its simply just lost at some time and added again.

This must be some sort of mass hallucination... Almost every lvl4 mission has scramblers and always had them. There has been no change at all lately. Every frig with a bounty higher than 15K can scramble. It is just that NPC scrambling is chance based, and you will never notice that you are scrambled unless you try to warp out. Which means that if you are a good mission runner you would never notice it. Probaly in the past you were lucky enough to not be scrambled while trying to warp out, and maybe you had an unlucky streak lately. The #1 rule for safe mission running is 'Kill the scramblers first'. So always kill any frigs with high bounties (and all strain drones) first. Other ships like Mercenary Overlord and I think some elite cruisers scramble too though, but in general it is the frigs.

Leandro, whilst I appreciate your response, your personal experience obviously doesn't tally with others. Dont think I hadn't consider that it might be down to the chance that I hadn't warped away whilst scrambled before. The fact is, I always leave the frigs until last so the chances thats i've not tried to warp out whilst scrambled before and that i've hit a run of back luck recently are slim.
As i've said, over the last weeks i've done 4-5 missions a day and without exception I have not been warp scrambled until the server update just before 2.2.
The reasoning behind this thread was to merely establish whether this affect was common or not, as you can read by the other posts, i'm not the only one to recently experience this.

if your pumping the same agent, there is alot of repetition, you are probably being offered a select few missions due to what ever randomizer is being used to assign missions, this week i have been offerred 2 Gone Beserk and 2 Recon l4's, pretty much back to back, generally i will always be offered a 2x or 3x the same mission its annoting if its Worlds Collide L4, but not as much as the repair station L4
take the good with the bad or diversify between agents,
I agree with the others there has been no noticable diffrence with srable frigs, some missions do, some missions dont,
why are you leaving frig's to last again?

heh in my case, a new wave spawned in and happened to be on top of me. It wasnt really an issue, I just never noticed them scrambling me before and I saw the message. Typically they dont get close enough for that, but my beams dont hit them 500m away ^^

Almost every L4 I've ever done has scramblers. General rule of thumb is always kill the smaller ships first, starting with frigs. Only frigs will warp scramble (that I've noticed anyway).

Strange, I second Leandro, scramblers have always been present in most level 4 missions and some level 3.
The Blockade cited above is a bit different as the the spawn aren't always the same. The different spawn are picked from a pool of possible spawn, including a faction spawn.
From my experience low sec or high sec don't do any difference for warp scambling (again the blockade is an ecepption as the chance of the faction spawn increase and it is almost granted that it as scramblers).

That is extremely unlikely. Either you did not notice being scrambled (i.e. whenever your tried a warpout none of the inties had a point on you, very possible, I have warped out from under 6 inties before), or something was bugged for you then and is fixed now. I am fairly certain it is the former though.
Also, if you actually have to warp out so much that you notice being scrambled a lot, you are doing something very wrong in the first place. Leaving the frigs for last is a part of that too. The sensible thing to do is killing them in this order:
Frigs - BCs - Cruisers - HACs - BS.
Kill frigs first to hit them while they approach you (no transversal and huge sig due to MWD effect), to remove lots of potential EW sources quickly and to get rid of the scramblers. Then it is a simple question of how much dps/hp the ships have, killing the smaller ships before the BS reduces enemy dps faster. In case of very harmful/annying EW, you will usually want to kill the HACs right after the frigs.

I got complacent on a level 3 mission involving the Amarr (the one where they are going to poison gas a planet)and got warp scrambled. This happened about a week ago. It was a surprise. I was not sure that the NPC's were built to do it but apparently they are. So thats one Brutix down the drain.

I have been scrambled in most level 4 missions but on my Raven I have 2 150mm rails and use those and the drones for frigates and torps for the biggerships.
