I'm curious as to how the rewards scale from level 1 to higher levels. ISK, loot drops, and especially corporate standing increases. I'm asking because I need standing on my miner, but I've been running them on my combat account. I want to know if I should start dragging the miner around now, during my level 1 missions, or if its better to push hard to level 2, then bring him in for the higher standing rewards (if any at all),
Thanks.

I would recommend pushing through to level 2/3 missions as fast as you can. The standings gains from level 1 missions aren't very good, and all the worse if you try and split them.
You might also want to concider sending your miner out to do some level 2 hauling missions. You can ramp up standings quickly through courier missions as they do not take long using WTZ.

Another path you can take is to have your alt accept missions and you do them for him, Couriers are great for faction as you can get a couple of storylines a day if you can put up with the boredom. But they give very poor corp standing increases.
I would just forget about him for now and concentrate on getting your own up enough for Lvl 4 couriers. they are so easy its a joke. more than half can be done in a shuttle the others require max 6000 m3 capacity (one is 25k m3 but can be bypassed by buying the tritanium locally and selling the mission trit)
And remember that as your faction rises so does your standings to all that factions agents. So once you have a faction of 6.7 you can access every agent in every corp.
Once you get yourself set up you can afford to split with him. in the meantime get him a few leadership skills and sit him at a safespot in gang when you are doing combat missions. he can loot for you as well. and those gang skills will ge usefull for his mining gangs. "highwalls" ftw.
remember also the social skills they can get you onto lvl 2 missions from day one if at lvl 4. get him trained up on them pronto for a big shortcut.

WTZ = Warp To Zero. If you fly manually you can warp directly to the stargate, avoiding that 15km slow boat to the gate.
If you are multitasking than autopilot can come in handy.

Great advice guys, thanks.
I knew about warp to zero, the acronym didn't click though.
Can you guys recommend some good gang and social skills to start with for each guy?
The miner already has mining foreman 4, if that matters.
Thanks again!

Connections III is a must-have for any mission runner. It'll help you get to higher level agents more quickly.
As far as Leadership skills go, I'd suggest that you choose one character to train gang skills with. Only one character can give bonuses at a time, so it's easier to have one character that gives ALL the bonuses rather than trying to figure out which character has the most useful bonuses. The miner already has some Leadership skills, so you may want to look into getting him further down that path in between training mining skills.
Goals for someone who's going down the Leadership path, from easiest to hardest:
1. Ability to fly battlecruisers 2. Ability to fit gang links 3. Ability to use a Mindlink implant 4. Ability to fly fleet command ships 5. Ability to fly carriers and/or capital industrial ships -----

I thought the difference between the agent levels was the loyalty points and value of the rewards. Is the standing rise also better for higher level missions? That is, does a level 2 agent gain standing faster than a level 1 when doing comparable missions for each?

Standing gains are higher for agents of a higher level and within a level for agents of a higher quality (I tested this yesterday). Not sure if system security has an effect (as it does on rewards).

Agent Level makes a big difference in standings gains. Agent Quality make no difference.

Let alone making you an easier target as well... And ALWAYS check the route it wants to use. ____________ Guides I like: Mining Guide V2.0.1 By Halada (Awesome guide!) |

so if i skipped ALL of my level 1 missions with my second guy, could you estimate how many missions it would take to make up that lost standing by running level 2s?

Yesterday I ran Deadly Arrival for a L3 Q10 agent and got a 0.4616 standing increase. Immediately afterwards I ran the same mission for L3 Q-18 agent of the same corp, in the same system, and got a 0.3999 standing increase. I believe this indicates agent quality does have an effect (unless you have an alternative explanation). =AFK=

What do you mean with 'lost standing'? You can run missions of any level infinitely. If you have access to lvl2 missions and are able to complete them (ship/skill wise), running lvl2s always get you better standings/rewards than lvl1s. Running lvl1s instead of lvl2s would mean 'losing' standing (as you'd gain less than you could). =AFK=

I am not sure that I understand the question. You do not lose any standings by skipping level 1's. You can train the Connections skill to get enough standing to access level 2 missions directly.
Trying to remember what the standings increases are like, I would estimate that level 1's are around 0.01% - 0.03% per mission, while level 2's are around 0.05% -0.10% per mission. Level 3's are even better. Level 4 combat missions can get up to >4% per mission. Again, I am just going on memory, as I can't log into the game from work.
The real trick to ramping up your standings quickly, is to arange it so that you get storyline missions from the corp that you want the standings with. Even level 2 important missions can provide up to 9% increase in corp standing.

I meant that by not dragging the guy around the level 1 missions, he has 0 standing when he joins for level 2 missions. if my other guy is at, for instance, 2.5 standing, then my second guy who sat out "lost" 2.5, and has to make it up through the level 2 missions. I'm just wondering how long it would take to regain that which I skipped.

I would say skip to level 2's as soon as you can. In theory it should be none, because you just need Connections IV to access level 2 missions.
Now if you are running level 1's because you don't have the skills for level 2's then you might as well split the standings increases, not that it would make much of a difference.
It will take you ALOT of level 1 missions to get a base standing of 2.5
The best way to get your miner his standings would be to train Connections to level 4, then start running level 2 courier missions. All you need is an Industrial ship.
Level 1 missions really aren't worth the time for standings gains.
