There should be a module that prevents people from scanning your cargo or setup, if there is feel free to flame me to heck, but i feel it's a nice addition to the game.

A module that wastes a midslot on a carebear's ship in addition to confirming that what's onboard is worth hiding...sounds great

I think thats a good idea but it must have a penalty, such as speed reduction and making you take longer to align you can't be safe in highsec and lowsec see. |

Why not have a module that when activated, tells you which guy is scanning you (even when he's using a passive targetter).
The moment you are being scanned, it gives you a warning (yyy is scanning your cargo) or something like that.
It doesn't stop them from scanning you but now you are 100 percent sure you were scanned and can take appropriate actions. It's not an *I am safe* module but it requires you to do something to avoid being ganked.

I like this idea. It means the noobs who afk through empire with all their worldly goods would still die. But it means a proactive player who is aware of dangers in empire can take steps to avoid them.

The thing is a proactive player dosn't need to know he's been scanned to know he ought to be careful. he should just use that slot for tank and default to careful.
Anyway if it were going to be useful it should make your cargo look empty. Then again, that'd be too handy for the smugglers I bet.

To be honest, I found the best way to see what someone has in their cargo hold is to blow them up and sort through the wreckage. This cargo scanning crap wastes too much time.

already in, you here "beep" sound, but well almost all players play without sound today.
P.S: the ccp fix with the sound accerleration can be turned off, didnt helped much...

There is an awesome scan disruptor called being in warp. Not only does being in warp make you unscannable it makes you immune to targeting and damage.
The being in warp module needs to be nerfed and the interdictors need to be able to pull people out of mid warp.
I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star. Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain. |

Well, when there are 20 ships at a gate, you're eager to think they scanned someone else. As there is no visual effect that someone is running a scanner (might be a better idea even), I could live with a module that shows who's scanning you and how (cargo/mod), even when they're using a passive targeter.
If CCP decides to leave it as it is, fine for me. I just don't support a module that makes you unscannable.

Who cares if somebody is scanning you in empire? I hear T2 transports can mount a pretty good tank and can haul stuff.

Edited by: Shaemell Buttleson on 26/09/2007 15:25:39 Don't know if it's true but I have heard if you contract all the goods for a courier mission they get covered in plastic wrap or something that makes it impossible to scan.
So why don't ppl just contract what they want hauling to themselves from an alt keeping the contents hidden from prying eyes?
