My suggestion , you want the most Rep you can get for the buck, get a Faction LP Store Armor Rep (Amarr for example) , its the same Rep / Cap ratio as a T2 but heals a little bit more then the T2.

No, not t2. Faction is better.
If you dual rep accomodations a repair rig or 2 would come in handy.
Yes, you really need that kind of tank.

Faction is completely unnecessary, T2 will do the job fine. I would not, however, attempt without it. ----------------

Well, In my very limited experience you can perma-tank maybe 3 NPC battleships (plus NPC cruiser/frigate support) with just named large armor repairers and T2 capacitor stuff instead. I've only done a handful of level 4 missions in a Dominix though, and I'll be the first to admit I was dealing damage like a pansy.
I've decided to postpone doing any more level 4 missions until I've got the T2 reppers and can deal more damage.

In my opinion, T2 reps and hardeners are needed. Your mileage will vary according to your own skills and technique. I only started running L4s in my dominix a few weeks ago, but I've run all the missions several times by now.

Easiest way imo, is to find a tank that will be completely sustained.
With decent cap skills and repair systems at level 4, you can sustain 2 Large Armor Rep II's along with hardeners with a single cap relay II, 3 cap recharger II's and 3 capacitor control circuits. Might look like an overkill on cap recharger equipment, but the tank can sustain around 500dps and because the firepower of the Domi is all in the drones, you don't really need to fit much else besides maybe a gun or 2 for managing your aggro.

i run 2 lar2 4active hardners, rigged and mid fitted to sustain 23/7 with it all turned on,
It bites, but just stop what your doing and get that last lvl of drone interface, then you can stop worriying about pew pew, and fit a perm active tank,

This. L4s will frequently require you to tank several BS, a typical spawn group has 3-4. Larger ones have 5, and the AE4 Bonus has, well. . . You won't have time to count the number of Machs attacking with T1 gear, you might get an accurate count before warping with T2.
Now, before you know the missions well you WILL hit trigger spawns and draw aggro (or, in a droneship, be forced to draw aggro) and have to take on more than 3-4 BS at once. A domi with a good T2 tank and rigs can tank probably 10 BS if not more (depending on type).
Besides, LAR II require Mechanic V and Repair Systems IV. Those are by no means exorbitant skill requirements. -------------------------------------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

T1 drones work just fine for L4 missions. if you lose a few T2 drones to a mission the profit is down to zero.
and Lar II? No. you don't. I ran with 1 large acomodation repper and 1 MAR II. Worked just fine. 2x acom reppers for the harder ones.
Oh and do't belive int he CRII hysteria either. One cap booster with a few 800 charges works magic. And you'll have all those lovely midslots open for better stuff. (Like an AB for getting over to that damn gate) __________________________________ Gallente by birth. Amarr by choice. iDrone |

Edited by: Schalke04 on 07/09/2007 07:19:36 Fit 2x Large "accomodation" vestment reconstructer I......done tens of lvl4 missions.....no problem to tank in a domi, with good skills/enough cap and the right hardener setup. You dont need t2. And you can tank really more than 3 BS in this setup. T1 Drones are enough, although you need the best drone skills you can get. T2 are not worth the risk of getting accidently popped.
As were both Gallente...if you need some more advice...dont hesitate to convo me ingame, ill help you as much i can.

cal nereus: For doing damage in domi-Have the best drones skills you can get. I put usually some railguns (350mm - thorium long range/antimatter mid range) to make aggro or pop smaller stuff from great distance or finish BS faster. Have different sets of drones in groups and rotate them all the time according to the target.
And fell love with sentries. Get distance and youll chew anything up to BC till it gets to hit you. And orbiting BS are piece of cake.
PS. Use rigs,CCC are the most universal, you an use them in other setups, but you can fit whatever you fell is the weak point - armor repair, resistance and so on.
