I admit..I did something really dumb, but it was an accident  . I was tractoring the loot can from the "Shipyard Theft" storyline mission that had the 5 sealed small cargo containers in it when I accidentally hit F1  and launched a torp into the can. Bye Bye can..Bye Bye containers.
My problem is the mission showed as completed after killing the final Rat, so the mission won't respawn for me to get more containers, and I now have no way of completing this mission. I checked the market, and "small sealed cargo containers" aren't in it, nor are they on contracts anywhere.
Anyone have any suggestions, or happen to have 5 of these containers lying around? I'll pay well, just don't want to take a standings hit due to me not paying attention, although I guess I deserve it.

tbh this case should be treated exactly the same as if the mission-runner had successfully collected the cans, but they had then been destroyed in a gatecamp enroute back to the agent.
ie. no deliver containers, no complete mission.
I see nothing here that justifies dragging a GM away from chasing isk-sellers or any number of other much more desirable activities.

I've actually seen them on contract before. Put up some contract orders in the mission running regions like Essence and Sinq Laison. Use the auto-link feature (type small sealed cargo containers, highlight it, right click and choose autolink).
Storyline missions are important to finish if you can. However, if the mission description reads "specific item" you'll have to fail it and move on.

Yeah, your screwed I'm afraid.
GM's should not "reimburse" the can, as it was your mistake and not a fault on the mission/game. They don't reimburse ships lost to accidentally smart bombing a gang member.

Your only screwed IF you have the "objective complete" message. otherwise just wait till the DT refresh.
You might be able to use replacement ones if you can find some. . . . . . . Oh wait I seem to have 5 small sealed cargo containers.
Your welcome to try them but some couriers now need the specific item from the mission and CCP have coded it to be specific now. You used to be able to use any mission item (same name) to complete the mission but some of the couriers require the exact version the mission spawned. Shipyard theft is a classic mission so they might not have changed it.

Thanks for the input guys. I won't petition it simply because it was MY fault this happened, but if you would be so kind Mikal, to contract those cans to me I will try to complete the mission. If I have to fail it, so be it, but I appreciate the help to try and find a way around it.

Hey,we all do something dumb at times. I once did exactly what you did - accidentally targeted a can and BOOM went the mission. Tried everything. I petitioned in the end - and the answer was basically "tough luck". Fair enough. My sympathies - have a beer on me!
