Post last patch for me seems to be all kill missions really easy. I went hunt few NPC pirates to belts and they seems to be so easy now too?
From my point of view NPC pirates shoots less rockets and hit less hard. Actually now is no reason to team up when I gon out on NPC hunt or on kill mission.
I'm now doing agent missions in blackbird equiped just with two 250mm gaus guns.
Does anyone have same feel that is so easy? Or it's only stupid me who seems to be it so easy?

If you think this is to easy go to deep 0.0, maybe a2-v27 and fight in belts
Lvl3 agents are only lvl3, they are unfortunetly possible to finish in cruisers (combat). There is no lvl4 agents that should give missions hard even for battleships

Don't know what kind of systems you've been hunting in, but if you find 0,0 - 0,4 system too easy and all killmissions for level 3 agents easy. I'll take my hat off for you mate.
I find a 85k rat with 4 35k escorts a challange. But some kill mission is too kill raiding party 5k-7k rats (boring) Most missions i had is a couple 30k-50k pirats each mission.

Get a Moa, train in Sharpshooting, Longrange trageting and such. Get 250mm rails, I use 250mm Compressed Coil Gun I, and Iron ammo for extra long range or Iridium ammor for riding on the edge of their Heavy Missile range. Have a backup of Heavy Missiles in a couple of missilelaunchers if it gets too hot for you. With this they lvl3 mission-rats are pretty darn easy A thread about Moa-setup is located here btw: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=58139

Urm.. every once in a while you get a mission to kill a guy named Zor from command agents... he shoots a line of cataclism crusie missles from his Raven BS... a lone bs can do it with thermal shields.. i wouldnt try it with a crusier solo.. ----------------------------------------

Well, duh, if you're a highly trained combat pilot, of course they're easy. Highly trained combat pilots can take out other players in battleships, let alone NPC swarms in cruisers.
It's guys like me, the industrial genius whose combat skills completely suck, that find them difficult. Schmidt mullered my thorax last night.

Baldour, I am usually in your area, so if you need a hand with Schmidt, give a shout.
I usually use 6 light Scouts as 'Chaff', sick 'em on one of the escorts and take out the rest at my own leisure.

Read your objectives for the mission, it will list who and how many you need to kill... If you feel intimidated by the npc(s) you are expected to kill to complete the mission, have a corpmate accompany you on the mission.

There are 5 agent levels.
I personally don't see why the natural progression couldn't be:
lvl1: frigate/indy missions lvl2: top end elite-frigate(maybe)/cruiser/indy missions lvl3: top end cruisers/battleships/indy (damn those courier missions :D) lvl4: top end battleship(maybe)/small group activity of several cruisers or a couple of battleships lvl5: 3-8 battleships
These 8k rats at lvl3 are far too easy, rats in 0.4 space are worth more than that. Of course, the 2x65k or 1x85k/1x65k are much closer to being right. Some should be weaker, and some should be much stronger. ___________________________________________ Join in the NEW Sci-Fi Quiz |

Hehe, I am no combat genius. Infact, I was a miner/trader from when the game first started until mid september 2003 when I quit for several months until I heard about Castor and started to play again in the beginning of january. So you can say I started training combatskills since jan-04 so I can't be that much further ahead of you I went for range, therefore a Moa sine it gets bonus to its range pr. level of skill.

I find my Kestrel good enough for lvl 3 missions. There were one or two I used to have to declines (named cruisers on the Damsel in Distress or Gurista Mortifiers) but now I have the ability to use micro warp drives, I can take them easily now too. It's all just a case of 'If they get within 45km of me, prod the MWD a couple of times and get 'em back to 55km and use heavy missiles' The missions take a little while to do, especially if like me you always go pick up the cargo containers but I've found it's the safest way to do it. Beware the lag though. I've lost a blackbird, a caracal and a couple of Kestrels due to not being able to react because of lag. :(

I completely agree. Fact is 99.9% of missions are extremely easy and quite boring after a while (I havn't had the pleasure of one of the 0.1% more exciting kill missions yet either). If there are lvl 4 and 5 agents and these missions are too hard for people then just work for a lvl 2 or 3, wherever you feel comfortable. Having the upper level of Mission running maneagable by an average skilled lvl 1 cruiser pilot isn't the way forward for interesting content. Make it so missions are too hard for one person to complete and requires team work. I don't care if I lose my ship and have to refuse 50% of missions, at least it will be a challenge!

If you all think battling npc pirates in lvl 3 combat agent missions a is easy then your so wrong... Try using the best quality combat agent and then you'll see they aren't so easy at all. I personaly fly a caracal and launch torps, heavies, and cruiser missiles in combat and they are still hard to kill. My advice to you is to not use drones of any kind at all, they must be powered up greatly to have any effect against these new upgraded pirates. Lasers are a great help to these pirates due to their long range and power. Hybrids are useless unless used at the range of their accuracy falloff or closer range. I dont really know much about projectile weapons. Within the limits of my agent's constelation I went mining in a thorax with 5 miner2's and 1 medium sheild booster also with 8 heavy drones which my skills are maxed in drones. My opponents were 5 FRIGATES and all of my 8 heavy drones were distroyed without a single pirate kill. CCP now needs to eather nurf npc pirates or up heavy drones by 10 fold, oh and I lost my thorax too....

Well easy or not, I didn't expect to meet 2 thorax cruiser and 2 tristan on my R/D lvl 3 mission, but I managed to take them all out with 4 ogres and 2 250mm Hybrid... in my vexor! Just make sure they don't get too close, and don't release your drones until they are within 15 km.. one at a time, get them seperated..
English is not my first language...

Kerosene thanks for the post on doing Level 3 missions in your Kestrel. I was avoiding them but since I have cruise missilse now I know it is probably possible.

Level 3 kill missions seem to be easy as long as you keep the targets at long range and set your ship up accordingly.

There will be a few missions you won't be able to do in a kestrel without sacrificing 2 of your high slots for smartbombs and using an inordinate amount of cruises which will, more than likely, cost as much as you get from the mission.
These missions will be few and far between though. (given average luck) -- TomB: End the speed-race. 1 propulsion mod allowed, make turrets affect ship attributes like +speed/+ab speed +agil for progressivly smaller/lighter turrets, -speed/-ab speed -agil for long-range. |
