Hi all very new player here and I was pod killed in 0.4 sec space...i was not the aggressor.
So now I have this persons name in my kill rights area.
What am I "allowed" to do?
I dont care to pod them back.
Can i attack their ship in high sec without repercussions?
I dont quite understand what my options are....
Thanks for your time!

0.4 and below is FFA (Free For All) space.
Your "Kill Rights" allow you for a certain period of time to shoot him wherever (Yes, in High Sec as well) but as far as I know, only until you kill him. (Correct me if I am wrong)
I would advise staying out of low sec (0.4 - 0.1)unless you think you can handle it, can fit warp stab's or have a scout for you. Helps cut down on losses.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I have the low sec ratting bug and will therefore put myself at risk.....
But it is good to know I can kill their ship in high sec until the timer runs out. I will be looking forward to this.
Yes I did have stabs on my ship at the time but unfortunately it didnt work.
Thanks for you help.

You can kill his ship once, or until 1 month from your death, whichever comes first. He can shoot back once you've engaged him. Podding him will result in concord ganking your face off.
Before you go getting all hot and bothered, can this character even enter high-sec freely? If his sec is -5.0 or worse, he can't, and your kill rights mean jack because anyone can shoot him anywhere at any time with no consequences other than those he provides personally.

Edited by: Cpt Branko on 09/09/2007 09:37:36 Basically, everyone has kill-rights on a -5.0 or worse, so kill rights don't really mean much.
If the offender is worse then -5.0 (outlaw status) you (and the rest of EvE, for that matter) can freely engage anywhere without gate/station gun/concord interference, and also pod him without repercussions as well.
Heh. Being -9.5 and having to go through 10+ high-sec systems in a shuttle will be a load of fun.

You have 1 month to tkae advantage of the kill rights. You can attack them anywhere without Concord intervention, but no podding.
However, when I was naughty, I was carrying over 60 kill rights against me a month, and in that time, not one person took advantage.
If you have killrights, it meant you didn't shoot back, or were ganked, while I don't doubt your skills, it is likely that the pilot that killed you, would kill you again if you attacked him
I, erm, like kill things and stuff |
