Every ship on the field had a smaller ship inside.
The GMs had previously said that DEREK would be allowed to do so, but changed their minds 10 minutes before the tourney.

You all could have seen a mining barge flying in the alliance tournament without any breach of the letter of the rules, as well as a legal 100+ point team lose spectacularly, but the GMs are obviously enemies of entertainment itself.

They were probably worried that if The Five don't manage to get many points in their fight, The OSS might bypass them due to extra points from secondary ship kills (at least the frigates would yield points). But seriously, I don't think that should be a reason to disawllow the idea, just cap OSS at a maximum of 100 points (plus victory bonuses).

Indeed, just give them the points from what they killed that we had at the start.
