I hereby say thank u
FYI "what happend":
1. 3 months ago I started to organise the tournament like I had done in SA, I took many old tournie players like Amira and Kernal in the core and contacted old mentats like Dalman.
2. When the rules where final with 14 unit dual xeon blade center I calculated and simulated several combinations and found many unkillable ones by when starting at range, in this tournament we used one tactic from the best 10, 2 curses, 2 guardian + hac + ( do not give 150pts hg snake crow ).
3. When tournie timetable changed I was bit worried as 9.9 is my first anniversary and I hand single handedly planned the strategy, tactic, decoys and had lot in sleeve for spies
4. Tournie started, we used simple ( "dont give much away tactic" ) with spider boosted drakes and scimi + 3 maulus, Derek was derek. All drakes had large shield booster and decent tanks, we started at 0km. I hadnt gone through the rules again before the fight and when I said keep at range 500 one dude moved and bumbed in another making us loose 20pts, still 130pts no losses.
5. Second fight, we had 2 curse, 2 guardian, 1 hac + nicholas barker experienced crow pilots with hg snake to make sure another team does not get 150pts. I had reasons to believe The OSS brings same team they did, they died, we got 150pts. Nicholas had light missiles including fofs and 1 gun in last slot as needed nothing else. 2 fights no losses 280 - 0.
6. My wife tells me we have plane leaving to London tomorrow and on to Franfurt, I tell my team of this anniversary surprise and let second in command know of some plans.
7. Last thing I do is leave the tactic 3 guardians + rattlesnake in armor tank and 2 large smarties to table, with ceptor with snake set to make sure at any case fatal doesnt get total hell death. I changed plan to this mediocre but safe tactic as we had decent points and I knew they are 2 pilots short from the HG set core group. But still RL is rl.
I just watched the fight, Kernal was too early on smarties, making him aggress friendlies and making fofs target friendlies up until next downtime, bug I knew explicitly thx to 3 months of testing but hadnt communicated properly. Still we did win. And for the books, we had no plans to keep rattlesnake safe, we had 2300hps min tank on em on guardians, and had plans to counter either fatal in 5k dps thorax + myrmi + or any. And had the points. I wasnt happy to hear what had happend, maxed out implanted rattlesnake with 6 velocity bonus launchers would have been enough to kill the targets with guardians 15 lights and its meds but team didnt have its captain who had as a mistake kept too much in his head for the gameplan.
8. Last match, we needed 20 pts the same amount we had lost due to moving. I had reasons to believe they are bringing the same setup as they dont want to show the bobs final tactic before its too late and wanted to test it. I had already left London was in balcony pub in Heidelberg, I said superior dmg, 8 thorax + bc + speed implant or 6 bombers + caracal( navy )+ 3 cerb, starting 70 on posteriori, taking down damps and keeping out of drakes fof range ( 80km or so ). I heard they warped to 0 so they had scanned us right on the field, we lost killing only 10pts. In that pub in heidelberg one week after loosing the edge and the peace of my office I made the wrong call under the influence of several Eichbaum Ureich beers, and the fact we lost as purely cos of mine.
I had made the work and my team trusted me and even given the 4000 killed ships in last 4 years and 3 months preparing for the tournie, we lost - one fight, which I called wrong in a balcony pub in Heidelberg. ( opposite to HAC ). - I held aces in sleeve for finals, too many of em
We won Amarr championship, saw Bhaal in rocks in caldari 1, saw apoc changed to mach in caldari 2 and whine in caldari 3 for lemonde not letting us in.
