Hi, i just logged into the game for the first time this morning. I am interested in the Interceptor class ships and was thinking about going for a Taranis. I was curious to see if this ship was any good and to know if anyone knows of a website i can go to look more into the different ships stats and requirements. Also if anyone has any recommendations for me please let me know (i like fast,hard to hit ships or heavy assault ones.)

tbh, go for cruisers > battlecruisers > battleships. interceptors are useless except for tackling.

Yeah, and battleships and battlecruisers are useless except battle(disconsidering the caldari ones ofc).
If you like assault ships, I guess... an assault ship would do you good, or perhaps heavy assault ships? =)

Even then I hate to disagree but low sec ratting in a pvp fit has never been so much fun.
Taranis with ion or neutron blasters and mwd is a damage monster, 8x damage mod on light guns with wreckings of over 300? That's pwnage for you.
It is a bit slow but believe me, when it gets under the guns it rapes things something rotten.

they are kinda essential for a proper pvp gang, nice to have in pvp, and after getting frig 5 you can easyly jump to a af(iskhur for instance) who is realy superior in pve to.

For PVE, the rule is pretty much as big and bad as you can get. Battleships are the kings for carebearing around in missions. The Gallente Myrmidon Battlecruiser is an excellent ship for missioning, as is its big brother the Dominix, the difference being that the Dominix is known as "the flying turd".
Taranis' are hard-hitting little buggers though.
