I doubt boredom had anything to do with CVA / -A- leaving but more for the very simple and complete fact that... Here it comes...
THEY NEED TO SLEEP ...
Strangely enough its why I logged off as well. I guess BoB took the day off or have more US people in their alliance compared to IAAACVA.
Its a shame though that lag prohibited us from doing anything major to their jump-in gang. On the initial jump in we had to warp out due to their titan warping in, we then warped back once we found their titan was back at their pos and local was going up.
I personally then experienced a grand total of 20-30 minutes of grid-not-loading-lag. In that time I saw a grand total of 3 people at the gate which where dead before my lock (of over 5-minutes) finished.
As I wrote in my post Lag and the battles it wins this battle was won tonight by lag, the casualties weren't in the form of kills but in the form of (probably) a massive capital gang in 25s which wouldn't have been there. Lets see if the lag-monster stays a bobbit in future fights.
McFixAxeYBobbits (miss any one?) and IAAACVA (and who knows who will also join in) have now gone up the road of the lag monster. It'll be a hard couple of months to come. Neither parties will give up anytime soon and I fear both parties will call in considerable amounts of help. I predict that the 25s node will crash at least once this week and the average module / chat response time to not dip below a minute.

There is NO LAG.
Do I do what they do? No. So can (and will) I whine about lag? Most definitely. As I mentioned in my lag-post, I feel its ruining the game for me and ruins alliance warfare. It makes defending or attacking a system a fight against lag instead of your enemies which is not the way it should be.
I sincerely hope there will be no lag, that we can have proper(tm) fleet fights, but I fear my hopes will be just that and that we will just have one big lag fest.
Its sad as the epic fights that could occur if there was no lag would well be... epic...

Yay, my local smack is being quoted on CAOD, I'm an internets celebrity!
As for the fighting... In the two major fights we had during the day I failed to activate a single module. My geddon was lucky we held the field in the first fight (in which I loaded the grid for 20-30 mins before seeing all blue on the gate). The second fight didn't go quite as well since once I loaded anything it was a station, in my new clone.
I was saying in corp-chat while we were camping the RR- gate that it was going to be either a truly epic battle, or a huge anticlimax. For me, and most others I would assume, it was the latter.

Couldnt believe this post.
Lag heavily favoured IAC this night, if there was no lag then BoB still would have jumped in, and orange species still wold have scared you off and we would have gotten into system without a loss. As it was you killed over 50 BoB who crashed coming through the gate and then got caught in your bubbles trying to log back in which took several minutes. ie. lag gave you 50 free kills.
Lag always favours the gate campers, unless the node crashes, then it can favours the gate jumper.
BoB then hung their collective behinds out on the RR- gate and the station for about an hour, even though you outnumbered us in local about 300-150. And you guys didnt engage. Eventually once numbers became more even we took the fight to your POS.
Dont accuse lag of helping BoB this evening, cause that is *******s. Without lag BoB wouldnt have lost those 50 who crashed on the gate and BoB would have engaged much more outnumbered and hence earlier, meaning BoB would have had even more of reinforce more IAC poses.
I do agree with you that lag really sucks, it is ruining this game for everyone that fights for an alliance.
Lets hope for some fun lag free fights in future.

isn't it funny how some people advocate both GTC<=>ISK trades and EVE being superior due to its cruelty and costly losses, when they use the former to circumvent the latter?

While I would agree with you in a normal gatecamp, this lag made it horrible for both sides but had there been no lag, you (BoB) would have suffered a LOT more losses.
The moment we heard the titan was in warp, we warped off. This caused most of us to desync and unable to warp back to the gate for at least 5-10 minutes. Ample time for your people that did get into system to destroy the bubble and warp off.
Had there not been lag, dictors would have been back the moment local jumped and all over that gate and had a 100+ man sniper fleet shooting you and 150 support scrambling you not much later. It would have been a slaughter.
Considering you did destroy the bubble and get over 200+ in system (when we had 325 mostly trying to warp back) means you where the ones with the advantage.
The order to warp back to the gate was given the second local was rising as it was clear you wherent going to DD the gate then but it took over 5 minutes to warp back and for a lot of us much much longer to load the grid.
Dont get me wrong, the titan diversion was a great tactical move and would indeed have lowered the casualties you would have taken otherwise, but you would have had more losses if there had been no desyncs and lag. As dictors would have been on that gate within 5-6 seconds (dictor warps at 9au/sec, gate was 15-20 au away, add some seconds of aligning + pre-warp and 1 sceond of exit-warp). Which would not have been enough time for your BS to enter warp. Seeing dictors now stop you from warping even if you initiated warp, and theres no way your BS can warp within 10s.
But we will never know, as its all in the past.

Therefore you got to load the grid in relative calm, whereas we had to warp back in and load the grid with all you guys already on it. A huge portion of our fleet (not going to speculate how many, I know I was one of them) had severe problems loading the grid at all. We won that fight because of superior numbers and in spite of lag. Without the lag we would've won even bigger.

I'm going to catch so much crap for this....but after a long chat with GM's over lag and not being reimbursed for desync....twice....only thing they came back to me was...our logs show no unusual spikes....well....your equip and your logs suck. Hence I told them I might as well go and play the game I never thought I'd play....WoW...here comes the banter....But seriously.....when the lag sucks so bad and you can't move or activate a damn mod...what the F is the point? Eve GM's should just be ashamed in today's day and age you can't overcome this.....oh well. I log in, change skills, see if anything of interest is going on now that I finally have a ship or two to help in. Time for me to join in on the lagfest.

Well apparently lag wasn't the only problem.
A disgruntled mate of mine in IAC says that another factor was that the IAC gang was running around like headless chickens because they couldn't find anybody to FC them..
Of course I don't know whether that's true or not, but if that is the case it doesn't really bode well for what's obviously coming.

In my petitions about it, they utterly failed to tell me that i was warned for logging into someone elses account.
2) The Shrike character, and the Shrike account, is not, nor will ever be, shared with anyone. This is also the fact that i tried to get across to the GM's when they gave me a warning, and they utterly failed to explian WHY i was warned.
3) All this was about 6 months ago, since then, i have not ever used anyone elses account, simply becasue, i dont really wanna get banned. Nor will anyone get to use my accounts.
The rules of the account sharing seems to be; If you log into someone elses account, YOU get penalized, and not the person actually sharing the account.
The same goes for all our titan pilots, no one really wants to risk it, so none of them are shared, and each and everyone of us are under constant petitions for ... well, everything and nothing.
