Well i hving a little chat with a freind on TS the other night and we came up with a little idear for insurance and high sec pirating basicaly it goes like this.
If u are blown up by concord in high sec for an act of piracy where the victim lost his ship the insurnace on your ship should be become void because face it if you damaged or destroyed your car in real life while doing a criminal act that you where court for your insurance is not gonna pay for it.
Any way thier probly more changes that could be made to insurnace to make it more relastic but thats my two bits. ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG !!!! |

In rl if you crash intently someone's car with yours not only you go in jail, insurance doesn't pay you and you pay for the other car.

That kinda happens already. Just attack a player and see how long it takes you to fly out of a station. Unless ur in an egg or a shuttle you're going nowhere for 20 min. But yeah that could take place wants ccp gives us our walking sticks next year.

Insurance needs to be revamped big time. It should match the going price of the item. or work off a depreciation value system. The mineral content is not enough. Especially if you get stuck having to pay the new ship in the game price. which is gorsly over inflated. Either a redesign of the insurance needs to be done or a max cap limt on pricing for ships and items. I also agree that if you use your ship in illegal activity, you stand to have your ship confiscated or impounded or if it is destroyed during a crime. you lose the insurance or it goes to the victim.

Real Life is NOT EVE. Please, please, do not compare EVE to real life.
However, if there is a hostile act and CONCORD punishes the offender, I agree, the offender should forfeit the insurance pay-out on the destroyed vehicle.

Sorry M8. but if you look at the development vids that lead to the creation of EVE. You will find that the game in its original intent is supposed to by design mimmick real life but in a futureistic sence.

I don't think anyone who actually knows how insurance works wants 'realistic' insurance in EVE.

Dear Jinx Barker,
According to our records you have lost another Rokh. The total for the month of September comes to 4(Four) ships. As such, we wish to inform you that your policy fee on insuring your spaceships is going up.
Starting October 1st, we will require you to pay: 125 Million ISK/Per Battleship (Tier 3) 110 Million ISK/Per Battleship (Tier 2) 75 Million ISK/Per Battleship (Tier 1)
Since you only lost 1 cruiser in the last cycle, your insurance for the Cruiser class vessels will stay the same. Since you did not loose any Frigate class, or Industrial Class vessels in the last cycle, they should remain in the low bracket they were at the inception of the policy. Same goes for all other class of ships.
If we may advise you: STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM BATTLESHIPS, DUMBO.
Sincerely,
Your Local TESCO SPACE INSURANCE.

Other than that, if one looses the ship to CONCORD, as I said previously, one should forfeit the insurance payout.

actually it is worse.. this is like: if the military destroys your property because you have done something so bad that they have the fully right to do so, and you then go to the insurance company saying "well i did something really bad and the STATE came and took this away from me, now you have to pay" ... ehh.. right

yup.. if you got arrested by concord your char should be in jail 1 day=24hours.
and you should pay the insurance of the other ship, if you destroyed it.

soo your charecter have a chip in his head and if he breaks the law it exsplodes?!
if this was so and they really intended to opgrade the law, then forget anything about being revived, if you get on the bad side of concord ^^

It be nice if the insurance would atleast cover 99% of the purchase price vice 99% of the mineral content value. Especally when dealing with the hyper inflation in this game or the "new ship in game" price tag. oh look an new destroyer damn the price is 9,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999.99 There should be a cap on the price of items.

From what I understand. eve in the begining had no option for clones. When you died it was true death for the character. reason CCP added clones was to keep the customers happy. Not mention remain in bussiness. So that was a forced change there. Now if you die and dont have a clone to go to you only lose about 20% of your highest trained skills. But I think it would be cool to have that chip implanted in ur head.
