In the thread that followed the CAOD post, one Goon pilot actually had the temerity to write: "For a small processing fee you can have the honour of fighting the good fight against BoB and have access to all the riches of 0.0 space. In addition, Goonfleet provides free combat ships if you qualify" (Orangir) A small processing fee? LOL. In a post I made back on May 31, 2007, I revealed the following: BEGIN EXCERPT____________ Goons have actually scammed noobs/pubbies seeking to join Goonswarm! The scam is to interview the pilot and tell them that there has been a problem with corp spies, theives, etc. and that in order to join goons there is a XXX million ISK collateral fee that is paid up front, which is then returned after X amount of days. I have seen this amount be as high as 400million ISK. The unsuspecting wannabe-Goon hands over the ISK, and is then told to f*** off. Ha Ha Ha. As one Goon posted on the forums: "goonfleet has never and will never recruit from pubbies, and has stated this time and time and time again, also there is a long and storied history of goons scamming pubbies looking to join goonfleet" (Telefishopolis, April 26, 2007, Post #31). The most recent example of this that I found being guffawed at in the fourms occured in April. The chat between the pubbie and two Goonswarm members (Khefron and Dionysus Davinci) and a pilot seeking to join Goonswarm (dardwonder) was posted by Remedial on April 22, 2007 under the subject "A Great Corp Has 2 Cheaters." SO PUBBIES BEWARE - DO NOT TRY TO JOIN GOONFLEET OR GIVE THEM ANY ISK. There was actually a time when even empire corps/alliances who wanted to join the Goonswarm Free Trade Zone were seen as potential victims of this kind of scamming. If memory serves me correctly, one corp was indeed scammed in this way. This, however, was stopped by The Mittani because it would have eventually ruined the GS plan to set up the FTZ. Oddly, The Mittani did NOT say stop scamming allies!!!! he simply said stop scamming them in this way using GS mains -- in other words, use alts and scam them other ways! I quote his post: "Don't do either [scam non-GS pilots trying to join the Free Trade Zone or the Swarm], it'd undoubtedly confuse pubbies about the FTZ. Scam them for other things that don't negatively impact our strategic interests (and thus make me want to stab you in the face)" (The Mittani, April 26, 2007, Post #18) __________________ END EXCERPT This is the heart of Goonswarm - treachery, deceit, abuse, griefing, betrayal, hurting others. Goons now seem to have taken such practices to a new low by not only ripping off trusting pilots, but actually luring them to Goon space in order to gank them. Here are a few other choice statements I quoted in that post, taken from a May 30, 2007 Goonswarm State of the Union Address, as read by Mawg Spawn: - "We are fundamentally in this game to have fun at the expense of the people that we don't like, and that means 90% of Eve." - "We are not here to be nice. We are here to be aholes that make the rest of the galaxy ps themeselves when they contemplate being invaded by us. We accomplish this by being the meanest, cruelest, most sadistic group in the game." - "And we are proud of our pariah status. It is a badge of our warped honor." - "Griefing Pranks - We're jerks, we've always been jerks. When we try not to be jerks, we stop having fun. . . . We have had our most fun in this game when we have been at our cruelest. When we are nice, we get bored" - "Our focus in this game is wrecking people we don't like." Goons need to be wiped off the face of the EVE map by friends and foes alike. Why? Because the Goons, unlike any other Alliance, are not the true friends of anyone! They "don't like," as Mawwg Spawn so clearly stated, "90% of EvE." Now think about what that statement turns out to mean in light of Mawg's follow-up admission: "Our focus in this game is wrecking people we don't like." WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Answer: It means they want to wreck the game for 90% of players, which would obviously translate into their foes AND their allies. In the aforementioned video, the poor pilot asks, "What's the point of this?" ALL OF EVE, LISTEN UP, read the above quotes. They explain the Goon's "point" of playing very, very clearly. THINK ABOUT IT. In conclusion, allow me to state that GOONS CHEAT! Yes, I'll say it again, GOONS CHEAT! Wait, sorry. I take that back so as to not bring down any accusations against me. So I'll simply post the words of a Goon in local, who stated the following: SYSTEM: JVIV DATE: Not Too Long Ago [11:43:45] Stahlregen > lv [11:43:56] Stahlregen > we killed your titan, naaa naaa na na naaaaa. ........ When I first read your original post, I kind of sympathized with you and maybe shared your sentiment even though your appeal to my emotions was obvious. When a loss occurs, most of us are unprepared for how to handle it, especially if we have never had to deal with it before. Even if we have, it is still traumatic each time. I am long over LV, flying happily with m8ts from LV and ASCN. No, my concern is for all of Eve in general, and for pilots in all alliances (friend and foe), as well as for the average noob, or empire dweller, or as you might say, pubbie. I want to stress something here - all manner of pirating, scamming, spying, etc is part of Eve, we all know it. Fine, fine, fine. But Goons brings an added element to the game -- i.e., a desire to bring ruin and destruction to the game play in general of those whom they dislike. And that is 90% of Eve, according to GS leadership. I believe such a threat should be discussed and examined. Hence my post in May and my post today. Food for thought, simply food for thought. Is this meant to be a stunning expose? Anyone who doesn't know this about goonswarm must have been living under a rock. It is common knowledge that goonfleet is not open to public recruitment. It says all over our recruitment forum that you shouldn't pay to be sponsored in and you shouldn't enter our space while not in goonfleet. And yet lots of people regularly try to bribe someone to 'sponsor' them into goonfleet. There have been endless threads complaining about how this has ended. And yet people still do it. People that stupid deserve to lose money. You do realise that Orangirs post was being ironic? He did post it in a thread about someone getting scammed, how much more of a clue do you need? Anyway, this kind of thread is the kind of drama that is the life blood of goonfleet, so keep up the good work. If it makes you feel better just pretend that goonswarm are just really convincing roleplayers. We all roleplay treacherous deceitful backstabbing rude drunk space pirates. Something like that...
