You can only fit 4 mining turrets because the Vexor has 5 highslots but only 4 turret hardpoints. You'll have to put a non-turret item (or leave it empty) in that last slot.

I don't mine myself, but from what I've read about the subject is that even though some of those more "rare" ores can bring in more ISK per unit, each unit is larger, meaning you actually waste a little time pulling in those ores from transporting them. Again, I'm no mining expert (mining skill of 1 FTW!), so take what I say on that subject with a grain of salt.

I'd agree that it's probably not something you want to do excessively if you want to get into PvP for the exact reason you stated. Just be careful with the PvE route if you decide to go that way. A lot of people that PvE a lot to build up skills and ISK to PvP don't really grasp how much more difficult PvP can be compared to the PvE. Don't fall into that trap, be ready to lose ships, don't go out in something you can't afford to lose and you can have a lot of fun with PvP, even with low skills.

You don't have to! I have just under 3M SP, 1 level in mining and none in trading related skills. All I do is PvP and is what I've done the most in the 2.5-3 months that I've been playing and I'm lovin' it.
