I want a job with CCCP. There cant be many businesses where this kind of ****-poor performance is tolerated, much less encouraged. If a small fraction of this nonsense happened where I work there would be a long list of resume requests sent to the local job hunter agencies.

Well, I think CCP will have a few openings in their programming department soon, considering the recent troubles.

"I've kept a hamster alive for the last 2 years, i think i'm over qualified."
I pick you. Anyone that can keep a hamster alive for 2 years should be working for CCP.

And if you are a developer, you get to give yourself t2 bpo's. And if ever caught, your free character just get deleted.

I love it how we have a couple unscheduled crashes and everone becomes and expert on networking and sql databases.
every company has network issues and database issues from time to time...that is why the network support companies around the world make billions of dollars a year. you pay 20K for a car and it has engine trouble and you don't tell ford to give you a new one or threaten to cancel your ownership.
This is $19 bucks a month....so we can't play for 1 hour. OMG THE WORLD IS ENDING!
Get over it.

I would certainly sue ford if my car stopped working at random. Engine, brakes and all

Within the scope of not revealing anything proprietary I would like a more detailed technical explanation though than "we're sorry, something happened".
Alot of us can handle technical explanations and those that can't can ignore the thread... -- Users are like a virus - each causing a thousand tiny crises until the host finally dies. |

I really don't think you see the point. What people are paying for is a service that should run well. There are not any other online games that even come close to the issues experienced here. It is totally unacceptable that a 24hr (-1) service dont run as it should when people are paying for it.

Also keep in mind that we really can't run missions/mine/anything with any kind of trust that the servers won't die at this point. We lose ships, drones, cans, etc. every time the server goes down.
It's an amazing game, but if we can't play it, what good is it?

GTFO, all this "moral outrage" is really getting annoying. If you are so high and mighty go ahead and create your own game and run it better. [-------------------------------------------------] Tears stream behind my visor, but eyes look unblinking at the world |

All I hear is "blah blah blah, garbage".
Really people, did you know that the original developers of CCP weren't actually game developers, but network programmers? Oh, you didn't? Yes, they do know what they're doing, and despite you thinking you know best - you don't.
Without actually being there, and seeing the numbers, you can't advise them worth peanuts. And I'd absolutely LOVE for any of you to come here and list off one other game that tries to achieve what EVE is doing. They have a few hours downtime in the past month that's unscheduled, and you all throw hissy-fits. It's really, really childish. ---

You must be a teacher, or why do you think, you are entitled to tell other to get over whatever they want to??!! If they want to vent their frustrations here, because, they can't play the game they love to play...than stfu and don't come in and give advise, nobody wants and certainly don't need !! And it is not one hour they are loosing. Today alone is at least 4 or for some much more!! And yes...if my car has engine trouble and my mechanic tells me "soory for your luck, sir" than I WILL cancel my ownership and go to another company...that argument failed, sir !!

Im not focusing on one or two particular issues. Im talking about multiple issues about multiple problems that havent been resolved in what I consider a reasonable amount of time.
This game is a business and I am a customer. When a business isnt running acceptably the customer is more than justified in complaining till their heart is content. A business does not do well with unhappy customers. If my memory serves me...that axiom is taught somewhere in Business Management 101.
To the complainer about my complaining: if you dont like what Im posting you are just as welcome to not read what I post as I am to ignore what you post.
