We have missile batterys for POS defence.
We have hybrid turret sentrys for POS defence.
We have laser sentrys for POS defence.
We have projectile sentrys for POS defence.
Did I miss something?
Ohh yes, drones that would defend ones POS.
Why?
Because we already have all the other weapon types.
How will it work?
Simple drone nests that can eat a few drones, like other sentry eat ammo, with a fixed size, considered by size (small probably 50m^3, medium 100m^2 large 1000m^3). They may be able to eat any drone types, relevant only by the volume of the drones. And lunch a fixed number of them at a time.

Also if you put fighters in them they should be able to follow a target in warp (just like the ones from carriers do).

This would be a bad idea, POS attacks have enought lag as it is, and with current Drone AI (making them inefficient in combat smartbombed/others) it will just be massive lag generator.

Oh god no, definateley not, the lag would be utterley horrific and that alone is reason enouth.
And as for putting fighters in them... errr..  thats just unspeakabley overpowered.

Nice idea... except for the lag concerns... And not sure it would be all that useful, but that shouldnt stop us concidering it..
Personally I would like to see logistics comming from the POS too..
Cant say if it would be worth substituting guns for or if it would be horribly overpowered...
Lets face it though.. Both drones and logistics are only any good if they are being controlled.. So they would be wasted if they were left to fend for themselves..

as many drone batterys as the pos can fit filled with warrior 1s, lag warefare, but i love the idea if it could work
