It would be useful for a number of (should be obvious) reasons to be able to "stop my ship" mid-warp.
It shouldn't be too difficult to randomly select a grid between the start & end points of the warp...
Most of the code already exists when calculating the number of grids for the remaining cap... ____________________________________________

Accualy your ship (number wise) does travel through the grids between Point A and B The deployable warpjammers i think
if im wrong srry

I still say the navi-coms would assign some sort of 3 dimensional coordinate system to a system that a ship was in. imho you should be able to see what coordinate you're at, & type in any cooridinate number & warp directly to that spot without ever having been there, even if it's empty space well beyond the solar system objects.

Ris - that would take A LOT of disc space to map eve to the point where you could enter 3d coords...
From a realism perspective, you're absolutely right, but the sheer amount of data involved would make it unworkable, i would imagine.
I just wanna be able to stop a warp when i realise that i've left the thing i'm supposed to be hauling back in my hangar ____________________________________________

how do you think it moves you through space now? 2d coordintates? There's already 3d coordinates in the game, we just don't see them.

I'd be surprised if the client was made to calculate realtime travel thru 3d space during warp.
More likely to calculate the start & end coords based on your available cap & just give you nice graphic (the warp tunnel & passing objects) for a period of time.
Any devs wanna elaborate for us? ____________________________________________

you can make a bookmark anytime during mid-warp and end up with a mid-warp bm, so it seems to be that the client knows exactly where it is when making a bm and you can also the coordinates here __________________________

notice all those planets and stuff moving about as you warp... thats real time 3d stuff.
you can go anywhere you want in the systems - trouble is actually getting there by mwd at the moment.
free warping would be a nice addition -----

It would be incredibly simple to let "stop my ship" work mid-warp. ____________________________________________

don't help when sum1 tells u in local that the gate ur warping to is camped, or (like i said) u realise you've left the thing you're supposed to be hauling in ur hangar... ____________________________________________

When thinking twice on the subject I came to think of the fact that the deployable warp disruptors can get you out of an existing warp. Therefore, it makes perfect sence to be able to stop in mid-warp by yourself.
