Eve crashed at least twice before downtime before the patch. this is a problem that CCP is unable/unwilling to diagnose. The earlier hardware swap was laughable.

Comparing EVE with her one server against other MMOs with multiple servers to distribute loads is like comparing apples to oranges. When TQ goes down, her status is apparent to the entire EVE community, unlike the other games where servers can go down affect a much smaller segment. The server team working on Tranquility is one of the best in the industry. However, with an organism as complex as TQ is, issues can arise that even the most experienced tech or administrator have not seen.
