The R&D agents are 'available' to me, but they all say that my skills don't match theirs. Is there a skill I need to train?

Check info on the agent, they tell you which skills are relevant to their research.

example. if the agent is mechanical engineering and gallente starship engineering, you need ONE of those skills equal to the lvl of the agent. if you is lvl 3, you need lvl 3.

Standing. Check one last string in agent info. If it is "Compatibility" field, read which standing that agent require.
Typical look of that string: You need a minimum effective corp standing of at least 0.75, in addition to an effective faction, corp or personal standing of at least 2.75 to use this agent -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

I don't understand this exactly, when they say "corp standing" do they mean my player corp, or my standing to the agent's corporation?
Also, any advice on which types of research agents are most profitable if you just want to sell datacores?

Edited by: Rashmika Clavain on 13/09/2007 10:07:29 The skill level does not matter. I have started 4 areas of research with two level 4 agents and even thoguh I only had the skill at levle 1, I started research (their levels for that area were over 1).
You need to make sure you have the relevant research skill trained, and that your standing is good enough to talk to the agent (from teh sounds of it, it is!). If you look at hte agent info, it will tell you what standing is required to use the agent at hte bottom of hte agent info tab... if it doesn't give you a number, then you have the required standing.

It means your personal standing toward the agents corp.

For R&D agents the Faction standing has no use. Only the corporation standing.
