80km may be pushing it, but it would be damned nice to be able to actually use the range advantage of pulse lasers in solo PvP.

its bull**** that a short range ship cant get jammed unless another ship comes into its optimal range.
maybe make some modules that increase the jamming range by x % so that (even at the expense of gimping their ship) caldari and amarr can use their own bonus of range?

If we get better stabs, sure, change the system. The problem is right now the best stab will always lose to the best scram, so as far as I'm concerned the system doesn't get changed to help scrams until stabs get more effective. -------------------------------------------------- FRIGATS Coalition FREGE-Red-IAC-Goon-AAA-Tau-Southerncross

Agreed, to an extent.
Originally by: Neferidian if they change the way the warp disruptor worked to make them able to target at longer ranges .
couple of possabilitys. 3 sizes of disruptors frig(currenty moddles), cruiser(+1 at 44km, +2 at 20l,. bs(+1 at 80, +2 at 40).
You've lost your point here by making ridiculous suggestions. Imagine a Raven warping in on a Blasterthron at 60km. There's no way the Blasterhtron has any chance at all. It will have cap death by the time it reaches the raven.
Now, you might say that a Raven has no chance with a Blasterthron coming in at 0km. While I see your argument, I would disagree. The raven still has half a chance, it can still hit the Blasterthron and if it hits with explosive and has a good setup, well... it might be close.
Whereas a Raven that can jam at 80km? Blasterthron has no chance at all.
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a jammer of just under 40km. That might help mid-range combat a little, without being overpowered.
Quote: or another possability is make the distance a % of your targeting distance.
Lets increase the combat range and give ranged ships a chance to kite before being closed in on.
You're not giving them a chance. You're giving them the wtfpwn-module-of-doom.
Oh really?Ok lets suggest atm that that raven uses torps, because that obviously does the most damage against a mega.
It will do close to(or slightly more)then 600 dps,the mega should do something like 800-900 with a dual rep setup and about 1200 with a buffer,so another words his mega will chew through my(even with a xl shield booster)tank at an extra lets say 400 dps with the dual rep setup...That means in order for me to kill him i would need to chew through with more...which isnt the case because at lowest resist the dual rep mega can tank about 400 dps...so its his 600 leaked dps vs my 200 leaked dps. __________________________________________ Yes it is great being amarr. I am minmatar, fly amarr, use gellente drones and am in caldari space. |

EVE will never be structured for solo sniperkiting. If you want to do that go back to WOW because it will never happen here. -------------------------------------------------- FRIGATS Coalition FREGE-Red-IAC-Goon-AAA-Tau-Southerncross

mmm, they're making the gravitron gun or something no? that's gonna increase a ship's mass. Wouldn't that mass make them things harder to turn? If it's long range, then that's almost like a ghetto scrambler in that it impedes their ability to align for warp.

I would love for longer range scrams, though i do think 80km is a taaad bit too much using current % a tech II would reach 96km and faction would reach 120km... which is waaay to long. something more like 30km tech 1, 45km faction would be nice.
No. Guaranteed to win. Do you see the difference? Long range setups beat shortrange setups all the time. Try watching a fleet battle now and again. What the warp disruptor idea actually changes is mid-range combat. 30-70ish.
You yourself agree that 80km is too long, so why on earth your flaming somebody else making the same point, I have no idea. I too would like warp disruptor range increased. One can only suppose you have some aggression you need to get out. Take it out on somebody else next time.
