Go into a 0.0 system. Get stopped by pirates there. Ask for a parley. They'll let you know what's what.
You might want to have a few mil ISK in your wallet at the time.

well youve got the hood, thats a good start.. cheesy, but apt name.. now train your skills to be an effective killer at 60k+ (sentry range) make sure you have a safe spot to warp to incase anything bigger then a cruiser appears. it may also be wise to learn 'l33t' speak... use the word "carebear" alot...
and your sorted
ignore the above if you want to play something more similar to the pirates of old.. speak with the jokers, tho they may not reply

1. Train MWD 2. Train Heavy Missiles 3. Start training Cruise Missiles 4. Buy a Kestrel 5. Kill easy stuff until you can use the cruise, then keep killing easy stuff (only faster/safer). 6. Buy 10 more kestrels because you are going to get blown up _alot_.
Stopping people, as such, is really not advisable in a Kestrel tho, unless it's an indy and you have a webber and a scrambler and know what you're doing. Noob pirates (like myself, I only just passed point 4 in my list) tend to have a hard time being honorable given the limited equipment that is available to us. Personally I intend to just blow as much stuff up as I possibly can until I can afford getting myself something with a bit more staying power (caracal perhaps?).

Are you in a bs?
If so train the bs skill you have to lvl4, train all your gunnery to lvl4, train all engineering to lvl4, and mechanic to lvl4, afterwars start on all the lvl5...lvl5 takes a long god damm time.
If your in a frig
Kestrel is always best, train cruise missiles up for dmg and heavy missiles for speed...those indys can jump really fast.
A cruiser.
Use a carcal with 5 launchers of cruise missiles.
Try talking to other pirates ingame too, and be nice to people when you kill them, cause out in 0.0 friends do com in handy.
As some1 said, you can try to talk to Jokers, they are pretty sound and are the most likely pirates to hold a smack free convo with.
The best tactic, is to find some1s mining op, then get a couple of jumps away from the nearest reprocessor and sit on a gate and wait, but if your in a bs, just jump in and try to raid the op which is more fun than blowing up their indys.
Remember, more fun = less profit, thats why miners are so wealthy

Pirating:: ONE WHO HAS LOST IN THE WAYS OF THE OLD. ONE WHO IS OUTLAWED AND OUTKASTED. ONE WHO IS MOST LIKELY TO BE JUDGE BY MANY. AN OUTLAW. MUST CARRY HES CROSS PATIETLY MAKING SURE HE DOES NOT OVER WHELMED HES RESOURSE OF ENERGY BUT ALSO NOT UNDERSTIMATE HES ENEMY. LAW OF A MAN ON THE EDGE - DONT TRUST NO ONE. ITS JUST YOU AND YOUR GUN.

Edited by: Negotiator on 14/02/2004 14:46:59 Hmmm actualy. Your skill path, especialy if you dont have many skills at the moment, should be limitted to one battleship. Scorpion is THE ship to fly if you have less then 2 mil SP. Missle Launcher 5 and Gunnery 5 are a must early on, Electronics of atleast 4 and Engineering around 4ish as well. Ofcourse you can go for other ships, but you dont need to have many expensive and long-training skills to fly a tier 1 bs, especialy such as scorpion that isnt very dependant on Gunnery skills. When u get to a level where u can be effective in a scorp, start training the Gunnery skills if u are going to switch to a gunship battleship sometime later on. If you feel that Scorpion will suit you well, train up Engineering and Electronics skills - you will end up having most of those except maybe Survey skill :D. Battleship lvl 3 is a must, train 4 when u have most gunnery skills at lvl 3-4. Practice with the scanner alot, try to join an established pirate corp, even if you plan on going solo later on or maybe even start your own corp - experienced gained from other PvPers is invaluable and cannot be substituted with big guns or lots of armor.

yeah man u just gotta get out there **** ur sec rating up and help pod those god awful pirate hunters. try going into a .1-.4 system and camping with other pirates they may be hard to find but keep at it, orvolle is a good place to start. as far as the skills and ships go that all depends on ur income ingame and what resources u have access to. the pirates life isn't cheap especially when ur buying cruise missles at 8k a piece. get urself into a small but establish pvp corp. oh do us all a favor and don't go the life of carebear alliances like cfs, xetic, sa, fa, venal, arcadia, norad...basically get urself into an FE corp

yeah so i'm sitting here at work thinkin man that guy should go the route of an apoc pilot. 2 reasons 1 in the right hands that ship can be mean in battle with all those tachyons. 2 if ur out on ur on those 7 tachs become 7 miner II's and it wouldn't be hard to rip some mega out of a belt..

there are many underskilled apoc pilots in EVE, because if you want to PvP in an apoc today you need atleast 5-6 million sp. (something i dont have btw, so dont flame)

If you want to became a real pirate then get yourself a frigate and destroy indies. Don't think you will have the chance to ransom one.
That's what pirates are meant to do, they shouldn't fly battleships, they shouldn't fight fight in wars.
And... Skillz, we are not recruiting.

a frigate pilot pirate is like an annoying little house fly, these are the guys like joshua that will safe spot when one enemy comes into the same system. if u want to be a real pilot get in a tempest with 6 1400s and under 2 second lock time in the game and don't run from ****. this guy doesn't know what a real pirate is

What your on about is pirating in empire space, pirating in a frigate is for 0.0

i had a little drink about an hour ago and went right to my head...i'm tired and i wanna go home...i had a little drink about an hour ago and went right to my head!!! don't be a frigate pilot that warps around and makes people chase u leave that **** in the past move on to bigger and better things there's no reason to fly a frigate with a small wolfpack of cruisers u can take out battleships anywhere with the right ew setup

Indy killing frigate drivers would do well to experiment with their choice of ship beyond a Kestrel. It is FAR from the best hit'n'run frigate in EVE. ------- Skill points. ISK. Ships, rare equipment. Its all just a means to an end...
Your end.
