So I've been missioning Lv4's and been doing a few missions against the Gallente faction for their tags.
Now my standing with Gallente is like -4.0...Doh!
Not a relly good idea if you want to move through Gallente Empire space right?
Luckily, I happen to have a Gallente alt that still has neutral standing with all 4 Empire Factions.
Now is it possible for me to use my Gallente character to run missions for Gallente corps, with my Caldari character ganged up, so that when I turn in the mission, my Caldari character also get a Gallente faction gain?
Would this be a valid way for me to regain the faction standing I have lost?
I was intending to use the Gallente character to do some Caldari courier missions to gain standing with some Caldari corps for clone bay usage. Would high Caldari faction standing have negative impact on Gallente Factionstanding?

You can't gain/share faction standing through gangs. You only gain faction standing through important storyline missions and the sharing there only leads to sharing the ISK reward, but not the standing.
Anyways as long as you're not below -5 standings with Gallente you wont have any drawbacks in Gallente space besides not being able to use their agents.

Another way of regaining standings is to kill ships of the 'opposite' race. The reason why Gallente standings would be so low is due to killing Gallente ships in missions like 'Enemies Abound'. Low Sansha standing 'cos of lots of missioning in Amarr space.
So...
Kill lots of Amarr Navy and you'll get an increase in your Blood Raider (I think) standings.. but a simultaneous loss in Amarr, obviously.
Is the trade worth it? If you want to do all 4 races' COSMOS missions, for example, this would be one of the only ways - but it's worth it if that's what you want.

No you don't gain any standing that way, you only loose standings towards Amarr Navy in this case.

So why do you gain Caldari standings doing Amarr missions if it isn't from killing the mutual enemies of Amarr and Caldari?

Because you get derived standing changes from important storyline missions.

Ok, didn't realise that. Thanks. Looks like I'll never be doing Minnie or Gallente COSMOPS then :(
