Wrangler said the discussion should be set forth in this thread: --- 1- CCP has caused these crashes with the latest Patch: WRONG The problem allready occured BEFORE the patch was launched --- 2- CCP should stop adding content and work more on server stability cause they are making the game run like crap: WRONG the server is constantly being upgraded and more capacity is added, but keep in mind that the amount of people playing eve is growing very fast and so are fleet battles (and during fleet battles your going to bring as many people as you possibly can meaning that at some point your going to hit the top). About 1 year ago the max number of players online at the same time was around 23K, right now its 35K thats nearly a 50% increase in 1 year. And keep in mind that Trinity 2 will very likely make your lives in fleet battles a lot nicer, even if you don't run the next-gen client. This is because T2 is writen to scale up a lot better than the current client can. --- 3- Do something about the server are you professionals or what: WRONG CCP is doing everything they can to get this fixed, EVE is the lifeblood of CCP and if they can't fix an issue it means they have a serious problem on they're hands and so will all the players of EVE. --- 4- You should have used another version of MySQL: WRONG Yes it might have worked, it might not have worked... but the point is, this can not be changed without completely rewriting the games basic systems. And even if they would do that, you really think you know more than CCP does about working with the largest single server system in the WORLD which is running one of the largest multiplayer games in the world. Don't make me laugh --- 5- I lost my ship during a server crash and I won't get all my stuff back from the GM's or I don't get a response within 24 hours : STOP THAT With these server failures CCP's GM's are SWAMPED with these kind of requests, so don't expect to be able to cut in line, your not the only one hit with this. next to that, the GM's track what people had lost trough a system they call the garbage pile (everything destroyed in eve is put in there so GM's can pull stuff out easily, but they're rules specify they can only return things if there is proof it was caused by a server error, and that proof is not allways there, if they would give everyone what they told the GM's they lost then reimbushment could become chaotic very fast. If they can't confirm you lost thinging, they just can't give it back, for all they know your lying to them trying to abuse the servercrashes to your own gain. --- 6- Roll back the server : Wrong rolling back the server is a last resort measure, and if they don't know the underlying problem, who says it won't happen again, or who says it will be fixed. (it could be a group of hackers thats bugging EVE for all we know) --- 7- I want the time I couldn't play repaid to me : I agree, partially Sure you should get your gametime reimbushed, but only if the time you couldn't play is actually worth mentioning, I may not have been active during most of the server crashes but not all servercrashes caused the server to be offline for extreme periods of time. --- 8- If this takes any longer people are going to quit eve: WRONG Even though people will get frustrated it will take quite some time with no news for people to jump the ship (pun intended) --- If you want to **** and moan because you hate it that the server is going up and down, fine, do so, but don't think that CCP isn't trying to fix this. Please relax you're GM rules a bit during this period of instability, its all we ask. even so, why do you mission run in a 3 billion CNR when you know the server is unstabile, thats like setting up a picknick even though you know theres a 80% chance of thunderstorms and that if they come you might be hit by lightning. the server crashes make the eve database go freaky and when that happens the GM's can't vertify you actually lost a ship, it could be it never ended up in the scrapheap section of the server (thats where dead ships go). if they GM's wouldn't uphold these rules it would open up a huge window of oppertunity which many people would like to exploit with stuff like "I lost a 10 billion fitted thanathos during the crash. " I feel sorry for your loss, but its not entirely wrong for CCP to uphold this rule even now. I once went camping when there was a 50% chance of hurricane weather the first night. Actually, that was the worst night of my entire life. Live safe, and don't fly your CNR ravens during times when the server is unstable.

More players + add servers + newer technology = unknown path , after all its not install and play. After all if that was the case your think after 4+ years they would have a better understanding with these types of problems. Bottom line people are not going to keep paying and playing a game bogged down by the same problems week after week. Especially with interesting PC games soon to be released. It's like buying a luxury car with all the options but the engine is not reliable. I guess time will tell.

I think when it crashed it also crashed for the npcs that ceased their attack. imho. nevertheless not reimbursing such a loss or not having the mechanics in place to log such event as a proof, I think is totally unacceptable

(I had to last month) so its simple, you let CCP do they're Job, and stop ranting. O and by the way those 30-60 hour breaks every day, they're called DOWNTIMES I cant connect for few days now. I understand ccp's servers are much more complicated as my little pc here but they still want to bring new stuff to test it on us. (yes i feel like crash test dummy) hyperforce99 can u connect to server atleast? are u happy?

I can connect to the server, have you tried to find out if theres something going on trough you ISP or the connection towards the servers? besides the problem the server is having is (as long as its what they found out) not related to the connection of the over all server, only to the situations were the server shuts down, so as long as the server is running it should be able to connect to you, so maybe its not CCP's fault that you can not connect. have you tried deleting your cache and/or reinstalling your EVE-Client

The Champion	Posted - 2007.09.15 19:13:00 - [52] heh dont know where to start.. but lets try it this way i never had any problems with starting eve the client crashes and thats not me many people have that problem too I did reinstall 2 times i did it on seperate partitition too I did try to fix it this is just to explain u, many people have this problem but no problem i take the time to explain u too maybe its part of the "make eve run on vista" problem hell knows, but my PC is ok i have 5 PC's here and many partititons i can test my stuff on.
