Due to the system lag or whatever they call it i was blown up in a simple mission. I warped into a mission, tried to target i got the target and tried to hit the guns and my AB. Nothing happened! I continued to take hits and alot of them (lvl 4 mission) i hit the warp out and again nothing. My damage wipes out my shields and i was hitting the armor repairers and hardenders and still trying to warp out and nothing was working, the video was working but nothing i could do would work. Pop goes my Hurricane 40mil worth of rigs, not sure bout how much everything else cost but there it went. I had to log off to get it to respond. I can understand having my ship blow up in front of me do to stupidity in low sec but due to game lag where i was locked out of all my controlls.. Makes me a bit angry i guess. What can a guy do to complain? I lost my ship due to problems with the game not due to stupid mistakes i would have made.! 32mil for the ship 40mil for the rigs and a shot in the dark 20mil worth of other fittings i lost because of lag. Set me back a whole heck of alot i havent been around that long to have enough to keep me going. If this is a constant problem or issue you just have to deal with, im out, i wont be a paying customer.

Had the exact same thing happen to me about 10 months ago.
Twice on the same mission even... Man, that was one expensive day.
Lag was very bad back then and it has improved alot since then.
Anyways, dry your eyes and open a petition, Im sure they will help you out.
One thing puzzles me though.
You were doing lvl 4s in a rigged hurricane.. and you finish by saying

First of all I gotta say its not a constant problem, but come on... you cant be that new.. lvl 4s.. and a pimped out battlecruiser.. would have thought you knew your way around the game by now..

Petition it.... reimbursement category.
Server was having problems lately and there was quite some lag/desync. You'll get your ship back although it can take a while (days or weeks).
One good advice though, don't start cussing and demanding your ship back. Explain nice and clear what happened and ASK if you could get a reimbursement. 
Also, next time you notice that the server is getting a bit sluggish, play it safe and don't start a mission as you'll just be risking a similar loss.
oh, and paragraphs are your friends, use them.

Why are you doing levle 4's in a Battlecruiser? Of did you htink you'd give it a go, lose your ship and try and blaga replacement?

Sorry, this was written in the heat of the moment, and yes my corp mate was in a tanked Drake (impressive i might add).
He would jump in first take the arggo and i would follow. He asked me to take the frigs that were up close and i tried but i couldnt shoot after i locked on. The second group from a far targeted me and the rest is history. I just couldnt get my game to respond.
Personally i can only run lvl 2 missions.
to add any doubts ive only trained to BC with guns type I rigs shields ect... Ive ran 4 missions with my m8 and for the client to quit responding out of the blue sucks is all. Lost alot of ISK and for a nOOb it hurts the pocket book and faith in the game i guess.

Very important: in your petittion for reinboursement mention what rig you had.
The GM will replace only what was on your killmail (not the items that survived).
The items that survived aren't replacet as it is supposed you will recover them.
The rigs don't survive but aren't mentioned on the killmail.
So citing them give you a chance to get them back. I don't know the GM instructions on that, but citing in advance will give you some chance of getting them back.

I'm not sure it's even worth doing in a Drake, I mean most level 4s must take forever to do.

Thank you to thoese who responded, I appreciate it. Not everything was destroyed, according to the kill mail. But there wasnt anything recoverable from the wreckage either. I did send in the petition, hope that works .
There is no way I could attmept these missions alone in my Hurricane. The Drake is a sweet gun boat he gets to missile range and unloads. He has an awesome shield tank going. Then i head in close and help kill the targets.

Free advice:
Always turn on hardeners before warping into mission spot.
You may even turn on shield booster/armor repairer.
That will save your ship in case of lag or desync.

Well I sent in the petition, and was told I was SOL due to the fact that there were no bugs or errors in the log.
How often do players get the message after you try to activate your modules? Trying to activate your module, please wait.
During the mission where i had no controll, I would click the module and after 3 mins after it was too late (arrgo from every BS and BC on me) a couple of the modules turned on.
During the first min i was hitting warp warp warp warp. I couldnt even warp my pod had to exit the game to get the client to respond again. I check my internet conn and it was excellent cable conn.
My corp mate had the same problem in his drake last night, took him 7 min to warp out of the mission there were 70 ppl in local btw both times both missions.
Just sucks to hear CCP tell me their rules wont give ships back or any kind help for a problem that is out of your hands and game based. I know they read the forums about the lag and would help the victims, even if i wasnt a stuck in Jita victim.
