Curzon Dax appreciation station post.
Any updates on what the server situation is? I've been gone from eve for the past month, and can only make out that a whole bunch of ******** drama has ruined your happy isk-making operation.

Read the first post man. :)
We've got 4 new servers, a new channel, and it didn't make me any ISK until we moved and I took over.
Swing by! Crowds are bigger and always increasing, and the more people, the more games. :)

And then when you were 5.5 billion richer, instead of either
1. Playing me for 5 billion and making a record of some sort..
2. Investing it ships / modules / whatever...
You blew it in pieces to various people. *laughing* I'm 5.5 billion poorer, but now you're not 5.5 richer. :(

Things have been pretty crazy lately, we're having pots of 1-2b heads up games almost daily. Not to mention some nights there are multiple tables of games going on. If it seems quiet when you swing by just ask if any bankers are around, we'll be sure to let you know then when and the how, and will try to hook you up with Heads Up play if nothing else.

Just a free, friendly "get to the top" post from a regular in the poker channel. Someone has to buyin to these games to make it worth playing, how else am I to maintain 500m a day average winnings? And yesterday. 1.25b. Lovely. Easiest way to earn ISK in EVE yet invented!
If you can't play poker, come along, learn, all while giving your iskies to me! Wheeeeee!!!
If you can play, warn me and i'll sit on another table.

See the rules posted here arent quite what is actually run, shrug. Just to let ya know tho I know ya dont care, ya just lost another player due to your change in rules. When and if your games are actually run in the accepted world-wide format and rules for sit-and-go's, let me know....

Guessing that this Tarlle's alt.
Yes, we did away with third place for games. You don't seem to want to listen to logic, but when you add 4 people to a game of 5, 1st place should pay more. Sorry man. We had a public discussion about it, and the general consensus was that its a good move. I have no problem losing one player, especially when its someone as aggravatingly obnoxious as you, when it means that the bulk of the customers are happy....ESPECIALLY when the decision at hand is not only more fair than the existing system, but makes more sense too.
Enjoy Eve elsewhere Tarlle.

I enjoyed poker here a lot but unfortunately the payout changes make it kind of risky for me to play on my bankroll. I highly recommend it for anyone with some extra isk burning a hole in their pocket, though - it's well-run and friendly and there are games at all hours.

1-5 1 Payout 6-9 2 Payout 2nd place gets double buyin This would be my prefered payout structure. NO matter what the payout structure is i will still play since its still texas hold'em.

I have created a system that pwns all the arbitrary nonsense we have been seeing, and creates a payout structure that is both satisfying to those that like seeing many places paid, and also has a consistant methodology.
The payout structure is determined exclusively by the condisions below
Each condition overrides all conditions below it.
1aThe last remaining player wins a prize bIf there are five or more players, the second last remaining player wins a prize cIf there are seven or more players, the third last remaining plater ins a prize
2aThere will be no prizes of less than half of the buyin bPrizes should be in millions of isk
3aA particular place (first, second, third) should receive a larger prize than they would if there were less people bPrize winners should not benefit more from the addition of an extra player more than those that placed better cExtra money in the pot due to more players should be distributed as evenly between prize winners as possible
Download the spreadsheet here

my preferred payout system would be;
9players pays 1st,2nd,3rd 1st 50% 2nd 30% 3rd 20%
eg 17mill 9 player game 2mill is rake 9x15=135mill 1st 67.5mill 2nd 40.5mill 3rd 27mill
6-8players pays 1st 2nd 1st 60% 2nd 40%
eg 17mill 8player game 8x15=120 1st 72mill 2nd 48mill
eg 17mill 6player game 6x15=90 1st 54mill 2nd 36mill
1-5 players pays 1st only
Something like this i think rewards all the placed positions fairly,
also people who are looking to play poker as another way of earning isk in eve i believe could do so with a pay out system like this one. people who just want to play for fun also have a good chance of getting placed and earning a nice bit of money. the high rollers in the channel where money is no problem due to there many ventures may not be bothered what system is used.
so i believe something like this lots of different people are happy many people making good money for the risk. more people playing poker more games more rake for the owners also.
i think the system being tested more people will want to play short handed only 3 or 5 people, maybe see alot more headsup games by the people who want to make money from poker. i think youll see less 9 seater games with only 2 payout places, it harder to win. people will start to have much longer loosing streaks maybe making them think its just not worth playing or not play as much. so maybe the system being tested at the moment i think will produce less return for the owners from rake. but we will have to wait and see.
For me ill play whatever system is in place but prefer something like this one.
I highly recommend the poker channel very well run

I agree since this is how poker is played everywhere else and the payouts are about the same... but my opinion doesn't matter I was kicked for being a scammer.

Hrm....Weiting Foyu, you were asked to leave because your bio points to a potential scam, and in-game, you specifically stated that it was a scam. I just asked you to leave the scamming at the door and not involve the other poker players. :)
Obviously, you decided to leave.

might be more fun if the client didn't drop connections, and then proceed to spend your chips for you...i lost 3k chips in a game that I was way ahead in due to this crap which caused a loss, and I wont be back.
In any reputable casino, that kind of crap wouldn't be tolerated.

Experiences may vary? =p
Sorry to hear that you lost 3k chips Cutthroat. But I need to clarify that the server doesn't drop connections, individual clients drop from the server when their connection blips. I don't think it has a buffer, so when your router / modem / ISP blips, you lose connection. Its a simple matter of reconnecting and continuing your game though.
Most other people do.

I guess you're lucky you're not at a reputable casino, then. This one is gracious enough to let you back into the game when you disappear without a word. I bet they'll even let you back in after you insult them in public for their good-naturedness.

Well, played my first online poker last night at one of these tables, on a table of 8 with a table with a 28 mil buy in.
I had a lot of fun, and was responsible for two of the first 3 people going out, and got to be table leader for a good number of hands. Things went a bit wrong later on, and I went out in 5th place.
I will definatly be playing more, though.

You could put up the occasional game for just very few millions.
Had my first games last night but lost all 3 (Damn you, captain rawr!), cost me a good half of my money.
It's great fun but i just cant afford more than the occasional game once a week. :( ----------------------------- Not an alt. And proud of it.
