Some form of "advanced diplomacy", and a set of corp-only (player-corp, I mean) equivalents of diplomacy/connections ? _

I don't understand.
With 190,000 paying EVE customers and game time costing $11-15/month, CCP collects from us $2.1-2.8 million/month ($25-34 million/year). Server upgrades? |

What exactly would that accomplish?
As far as I know corp standings towards NPC corporations are only relevant in case of high sec POS'es.

L5 Diplomacy turns a -10.0 base standing into a -6.0 effective one, or a -5.0 one into a -2.0 one. You need at least -2.0 in all three standings (faction, corp, agent) with a certain agent to access it at all. Say you have a +10.0 personal standing with a certain agent, but you managed to get your faction standing down to -5.1 with the faction the agent belongs to. Bye-bye agent, for now. Same thing, but worse with personal agent standing. Get to -5.1 with an agent, and it's bye-bye that agent forever, even if you have +10.0 corp and faction standings.
Corps need certain standing levels with factions to anchor POSes in highsec. Standings are trending towards the average of individual member standings, so, for most corps that are larger than a single player, it's quite troublesome. Having an equivalent "connections" skill for a corp would allow non-PvE, single-faction focused corps to actually anchor one with much less hassle. Also, jumpclone installation possibility would be slightly faster for new members. _

This is actually not a bad idea, but I would do it differently.
Advanced DED connections - Penalizes anyone on a killmail when a combat ship kills an unarmed ship.
Imposes a compulsary tax on each item the attacker loots and sells. Each level increases the tax by 10%.

if you are working for the enemy then you are porked... however all you have to do is run missions for the enemies of the enemy and you are ok ,, or fail a few important missions for the corp you are running to get access to them .... then grind them back up ...
I know becuase I trained diplomacy 5 [on an alt] to be able to get to talk with a research agent - only to find that -2 wasn't enough - I'm not loosing the 1.3mil starship points for good reason.

Well, -2.004 (displayed as -2.00) is not enough, but -2.00...000 would just be. You can't get under -5.00 unless you kill at least one "enemy faction" ship afterwards of reaching -5.00...000 from derived faction standings.
The "fail missions to gain standings for enemies" was deemed an exploit and therefore *cough* "fixed". You have to run friendly empire storylines to gain derived standings. Good news is that you should always have access to Ammatar and SOE agents, you hardly ever run into any of their ships in missions, and the derived standings caps are low enough to prevent going under the "beyond recovery" area. It takes forever though.
By the way, that is IMPOSSIBLE for pirate factions. Have under -5 with all three Guristas, Blood Raiders and Sansha ? Bye bye all of them forever. No chance for recovery. Not with the current system. _

Hmm, maybe storyline negative derived gains are still possible. TBH, I haven't tried that, my bad. Normal mission failure however, definetely not possible. _

And before you ask, no, splitting gang rewards doesn't work either. Storylines are unsplittable.
By the way, recovery is IMPOSSIBLE for pirate factions. Have under -5 with all three Guristas, Blood Raiders and Sansha ? Bye bye all of them forever. No chance for recovery. Not with the current system.
Impossible?
What if another character ran missions for them with you in the gang (and split the mission reward)? Wouldn't that improve your standings? With excellent social skills and access to some, agents I imagine even a -9.9 standing could be repaired in a reasonable timescale, especially if you had several people doing it and they sequentially ganged you just before collecting the mission pay. Cut a deal with a 0.0 mission running corp...?
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Impossible.
As Akite alredy pointed out, the storyline faction gains aren't splitted.
So even if doing mission with a friend you get to 10 standing with one of the Serpentis corporations, if your modified Serpentis faction standing is lower than -2.00 no serpentis agent will speak with you.

Well, the confusion might originate from the fact you can select "me and my gang completed the mission" for storyline missions (or at least you could, haven't even tried lately). However, only CORP standing increase and ISK rewards get split. Faction standing increase doesn't. _
